"Just recently was contacted by a collection agency stating I owe a bill. I would have paid it if I was aware it."

"I have been turned over to collections twice by this hospital for physicians’ bills that I never received. I had no idea I even owed money, and only found out after they ended up on my credit report. I called the billing department and was told that a portion was paid by my insurance, but I still owed money. Again, I never received the bills and there are no records from my insurance that they were billed for the physicians. I would have gladly paid my portion had I been notified of any balance. Their billing department is terrible, and apparently I am not the only one who has had this issue based off of other reviews. Thankfully, I have already resolved one of the debts, and I’m currently working to resolve the other one and have it removed from my credit report. However, this should have never happened! Shame on this place for unethical financial practices! I would avoid this place if possible!"

"If it's possible to give negative stars, I would. Their website states they accept my insurance but they do not. I was seen in Tanner Hospital ER in Janaury, in a lot of pain, alone, and was not told there was a separate billing. My insurance paid the claim promptly - within 20 days - but I never saw a bill from Carrollton Emergency Physicians group until 2 days ago. It was a final notice threatening to turn me over to collections. Their bill was over $1100 which my insurance said was a contractual adjustment. Because I work in the financial area, referring me to collections means I lose my job. Carrollton Emergency Physicians group takes advantage of patients in a serious, potentially life-threatening situation to inflict threats to patient's financial well-being. Avoid Tanner Hospital. Definitely refuse to be seen by any Carrollton Emergency Physicians group if you end up there."

"Tanner Emergency Physicians do not contract with ANY insurance company. They also do not give a self-pay or prompt-pay discount. Be prepared to pay 100% out of pocket whatever your bill is. I work with a medical billing company and I am appalled at how they treat their customers. They are willing to take advantage of you because they KNOW you have no other choice. If it is not a life-or-death situation, I recommend Piedmont in Newnan. They accept insurance, are friendlier, and quicker as well. Update - these people don't even accept the Hospital's financial assistance program without a fight!"

"This group's accounting department is unacceptable. If you are luck enough to have insurance pay anything towards this group, they will claim (as they did with me) that the insurance either has not paid or "took back the money". There is no one to speak to to resolve an balance dispute - they are sent to "review" which takes "a couple of weeks". I think you're better off dead then dealing with these "folks"."
