"I reached out to this business about regulating a cheap automatic watch I recently purchased that gains about 40-50 seconds per day. This is technically within spec for the watch, as the manufacturer says it's normal to experience -20/+60 seconds per day, however I know that watches can be regulated to improve the accuracy. Instead of offering to take a look at the watch or give me an estimate, the business owner told me to return it to the manufacturer. What type of business turns away customers when they could provide a simple service and make a quick buck? Makes no sense. I don't have the tools to regulate it, but I have since ordered some and will do the work myself since WVGL Clock Repair doesn't seem interested in my money."

"This guy is hinkey. I called to see about a clock repair. Before I could tell him what I wanted he wanted $350 up front. Since I had done a small job before on my clock I mentioned that's what I wanted done and told him I had done it before. Then the cost was $25 +parts. he asked me if I was going to get the parts myself which is kind of odd. I wouldn't want my clock to be butchered by this man. You probably end up with cheap parts - if it even worked when you got it back!"

"Avoid this business. I have never had a more negative experience than I’ve had in my dealings in trying to get my grandfather clock repaired. On 12/16/17 I was told my clock had to be completely rebuilt at a cost of $1200. It had to be paid in advance. Repairs would take 2 to 3 weeks. He called at the end of January to say he discovered my pendulum was bent and it would cost me an additional $517.28 for a new one because he couldn’t repair the old one. After calling him in February he said he hadn’t received the pendulum but thought he could repair the old one. He would cancel the order and charge me $200 for repairing the old one and refund me the difference. He never called to let me know the status and always had an excuse for the delay when I called. He was always sick or someone was in the hospital. The middle of April he finally called and said he was ready to finish the job. When he installed the clock he could not give me my refund because he was changing bank accounts. After over a week When I called to check the status of my refund it still was not straightened out because it was complicated and he hung up on me. I have had to file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Division in the Office of the Attorney General in an attempt to recover my refund. I would strongly recommend avoid this business as you are probably going to get ripped off and frustrated in many ways. Since posting this review I received the following Email from Jonathan Gwinn concerning his experience: They almost conned me as well. I bought my wall clock to his business. He told me it needed a total overhaul and for $10 more could replace with a new movement. He also told me he needed to be paid upfront. I promptly said thanks but no thanks and left. I found a repairman in Hinton, WV that oiled a few parts for $68....vs $450....is working fine. Obviously in hindsight he had designs on selling me a new movement and keeping the old movement to double his money. Today 6/5 the complaint I filed with the AG’s office resulted in my getting a check from Mr Harper for $300. He said in note with check that he had trouble getting the money all transferred over so he took it out of his personal finances. I’m scratching my head on that one. The check was #1501. I’ll deposit it tomorrow and hope it clears. Let you know if it doesn’t."
