"Jan is undoubtedly amazing. Unfortunately, she didn’t have any immediate openings for my little one, but I didn’t turn away dissatisfied. She thoroughly explained everything to me and just how she tries her best to accommodate her students and families to the best of her ability. As of recent, I have not found any greater customer service than what Jan has shown us. I hope in the future, an available spot will be open for my little one. "My son, age 11, and my daughter, age 8, both beginners, started piano lessons with Mrs. Jan a little over a year ago. They have made much more progress and have much more musical knowledge than I do after my own one year of music lessons as a child. I have been very impressed by her teaching. She teaches them to read music as well as how to compose. To keep them enthusiastic about their lessons, she goes out of her way to find music for popular songs they are familiar with that they are excited about playing. In addition to instruction at the piano, she sometimes has the children play games to help them learn the concepts, which of course makes the lessons fun. When a situation has required that she be tough and hold them accountable she has done so. When they have needed encouragement she has provided it. Mrs. Jan truly loves her students, and my kids love her. They look forward to their lessons each week. We highly recommend Mrs. Jan."

"Mrs. Jan teaches three of my sons ages 9, 10, & 12. They started taking lessons in May of 2015. In less than two years they have made progress that I would not have expected to happen until being in lessons for four years. I am not exaggerating. Mrs. Jan teaches children to read music and play what they see on the page. Any other piano teacher in Macon that I know of stops there. Mrs. Jan also teaches my boys ear training and early composition skills. They are also learning to play from lead sheets, which will prepare them to play with a band later if they want to. She uses a hand drum in her studio to help the children learn to keep a steady beat. Interview other teachers in Macon and ask them if they teach all of these skills. I haven't found one yet that does. I believe that her approach of integrating all of these skill sets is the reason my kids have progressed so quickly. Well, they also practice. She makes it fun, and they want to (practice). My kids love piano and wouldn't trade it for anything. I love what Mrs. Jan is doing with my boys and can't say enough about her as a teacher."
