"Ivy Academy is a public middle- and high-school that serves students from throughout Hamilton County, Tennessee. Ivy follows an Environmental Education curricular approach that allows for hands-on, outdoors education. However, as a public school that is open to all students, Ivy follows the same state curriculum standards as every other public school. Ivy is located adjacent to the North Chickamauga Creek Gorge section of the Cumberland Trail State Park, on the banks of the N. Chick. Creek. Not only does this allow the students access to miles of trail, but there also is a unique partnership with Tennessee State Parks that allows for a Park Ranger to be assigned to the school as an educational resource. This is a very innovative approach to public education."
