Reviews of EMDR Trauma Therapy Center (EMDRTT)
"This review is specifically for Jill Rockey, APRN, PMHNP-BC. If you're considering scheduling an appointment with her, run don't walk. I called to ask for a prescription I was running of within a couple of days. Instead of sending in the one prescription I asked for, she filled two prescriptions that I didn't ask for and didn't need. Fast forward 6 days, I had been without my medication for five days. I called the office first thing in the morning. I was told that Jill Rockey would be contacted to put that prescription in. After checking with Walgreens, 3 hours later my prescription still hadn't been sent in. So I called the office AGAIN, literally BEGGING for my medication because I need it. After some back and forth, I was finally told that my prescription was at the pharmacy being prepared. Upon calling the pharmacy to confirm, I was told that she sent the same two prescriptions in that she had sent in five days earlier and not the one I needed and had been begging for. Now I don't have the prescription I need very desperately and I need a new prescriber. If you care about your mental well-being you should definitely see anyone other than Jill Rockey. I'm beyond disgusted!"
"This is a great facility. I cannot say enough about the therapists who practice EMDR there. They are so knowledgeable and helpful. Honestly, it saved my life."
"Things were great for almost a year that I was seeing a councilor here. I had to take a break because we were preparing to buy a house and needed the extra money put away; that was last March/April. In November, I attempted to begin sessions again, even though I would have to drive an hour for my appointments; it was worth it to me. But three times in a row, "the computer" cancelled my appointment the day of without me knowing. I thought things were fixed, and the week of Christmas I had an appointment scheduled only for that one to be cancelled by the provider sue to illness. Not her fault, but after the holidays when I tried to make another appointment, no one answered the phone nor returned my calls when I left a message requesting to set an appointment or speak to a living person. It is now February and I have given up and am looking for a new provider. 3 stars because they did help me through some pretty traumatic stuff for a while, but whatever changes the office has gone through recently have not been good."
"Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with Cokey Powell. Instead of having a regular therapy session she wanted to go through my intake form instead of having a conversation with me, she then talked down to me and told me I don't understand what PTSD is as well as mania, hypomania, dissociation, compulsion, obsession and more. Each one she explained (mind you I've had 15 years of therapy from a professional and I know what these terms are). She seemed to have a need to make sure I knew I was wrong and that I acknowledged that she knew all the answers. She even defined what a dysfunctional family is and who coined the term, again waisting my time and money. I didn't come to therapy to be invalidated, traumatized even more and I certainly didn't fill out the intake paperwork to then pay $125 to go through it again. My advice is to see a different therapist than Cokey Powell."
"PLEASE READ!! This place is amazing. My therapist is Rieko Higuchi and she is AMAZING. I met with her once and already began to see a difference in my mentality. She is becoming my favorite part of each week. The facility is clean, quiet, and extremely professional and respects your privacy. Front desk is extremely knowledgeable and if they don’t know, they’ll get you to someone who does. I don’t know where I’d be without this place. So thankful I found them."
