"My son started to work with College Transitions during his sophomore year. Andrew & Michael were instrumental in helping with everything from course selections, summer opportunities, recommendation letters and guidance on applications. They were the consummate professionals, extremely knowledgeable and always quickly accessible during the entire process. It was an excellent investment to help guide my son through the college process and I’ve since hired College Transitions to work with my daughter!"
"The team at College Transitions really has the right formula down. From the very first communication through acceptances, they were always very responsive, professional and helpful. Andrew and his team were able to narrow down a list of potential schools for our daughter and answer all of our questions. We started with CT right before senior year and they very quickly made a few course change recommendations, after learning the schools our daughter was considering. That was immensely helpful. The essay support was wonderful, especially in brainstorming and providing feedback. In a very difficult year for college acceptances, our daughter got into one of her top choice schools. CT has a formal process, and it works. It removed a lot of the stress off of us as parents, since her advisors and the tools at CT helped manage her application schedule, list of schools and deadlines. In our situation, they worked directly with our daughter during the majority of the process (which we liked), but several times we asked for parent meetings to discuss what was happening, and our College Transition advisor was always extremely responsive and happy to get on a call right away to answer our questions. It was a perfect balance for us. We plan to use them again when our son is going through the college application process."
"Andrew Belasco and his team are excellent, very knowledgeable and very supportive. Their guidance in college selection and essay writing was invaluable. Andrew also helped us with filling out the main college app in a way to best highlight my child. He also assisted in high school course selection, activity choice and standardized test prep. And as a result, my daughter got into her first choice, Boston College."
"The guidance Michael Trivette of College Transitions gave my daughter over two years was invaluable. (Why two years....because my daughter applied to college and then took 2 gap years....not an enviable place to be in terms of colleges). On round one, his tips re: the perfect essay were so good (although my daughter had to re-write 6 or more times) that her admission letters noted the strength of her essay. On round two, his suggestion of a specific college was spot on. My daughter picked that school as her 1st choice and was admitted with a Presidential Scholarship. More importantly, Michael was with us the entire journey with it's ups and downs, was available even when inconvenient for him (somehow he ended up helping out on Christmas Day), was always patient and gave extraordinary advice (and never got upset that I asked way too many questions). Michael's strengths include his knowledge of the process, his ability to hone in on what's important in choosing a school and the fact that he loves doing what he's doing and it shows. Not to mention that getting access to College Transitions website for clients allowed extraordinary tracking of due dates and easy research for the many times that college list changes. In my opinion, when I selected College Transitions from a "google search" , I found the best (and most ethical) independent college advising available.. By the way, we are located in the midwest, but my daughter actually liked the virtual meeting with Michael and Taylor (who also provides essay help) better than having to go to an office to meet. Meetings were held at night and on week-ends which was ridiculously convenient for her. The only downside is that we never got to meet Michael and Taylor in person meaning that we can't celebrate my daughter's admission. After two years of working together, I wish they could join the college send-off party in person. (Maybe they'll attend by Skype...LOL). Truly, it's a smart decision to use College Transitions and you will be glad you did. (By the way, I never worked directly with the other partners, but they consulted with each other when weird questions came up.)"
"A heartfelt thank you to Michael Trivette at College Transitions. Michael met my son in his junior year at a time when college admission was a highly stressful concept. Michael spent one-on-one time with him getting to know his strengths and understanding what is important to him. Michael gave my son what he needed to move ahead with confidence. He earned acceptances to almost all his schools including a substantial merit scholarship. Michael was there for my son every step of the way."
