"After my mother’s fridigidaire washer wouldn’t complete a spin cycle, she called Jim’s to get it looked at. After 3 hours of him inspecting and “running tests,” trying to reprogram the washer, and taking everything apart, he suggested she needed a new control board. (Quoted for $180) This was after she paid $90 just for him to come inspect it. During his entire visit, he kept referring to her as a “house wife” and saying she should just get an entire new washer. (Probably because he left it in worse condition than what he found it) Needless to say, after he left we did our own inspection. The error code on the washer said we needed a new door lock switch. He said that was something he hardly ever had to replace. However, every video we looked up said that was normally the first thing to go out. After spending $39 on the new door lock switch and taking five minutes to change it, the washer is now working good as new. It seems to us like this company was just trying to scheme out every dollar they could instead of fixing this minor, cheap problem. If we would have listened to his advice and spent $180 on the part he suggested, we would have been out even more money and still out a washer. If he would have paid attention to the error code as we did, this situation would have been avoided entirely. So for someone looking for a review on this place, you’d have a more professional job doing it yourself."
