Reviews of Raborn Stephen D MD
"All the negative reviews about this doctor and his staffs are unbelievable Specially the lady answers the phone name Krystal."
"Refused to see my mother with dementia because it had been 2 years since he saw her. He wouldn't even take her on as a "new patient". Utterly disgusted."
"I’m a patient in the 18-21 yr old range. They do not seem to care about my health at all. I saw the NP for a while and she was very very sweet but it feels like nobody in that office wants to listen to me. Almost as if they don’t believe me. I told them I had high blood pressure, didn’t believe me. Took my BP at the beginning and end of the appt. It was the same..high. I bought myself a monitor and showed them the readings and *then* believed me and put me on BP medicine at such a young age. The medicine made me feel awful and it didn’t even help my BP. They wanted to up the dose instead of finding the actual root of the problem. No reason for me to be having HBP at my young age with perfect labs and a healthy weight/lifestyle. On another note, Dr Raborn is very rude. He said I “don’t need to be seeing a cardiologist” (that *HIS* NP referred me to -thankfully-) when my main concern is my heart and heart rate. Even went to the ER for heart palpitations and SOB, and he didn’t seem to care. He didn’t seem to listen to anything I had to say except tell me that “well you’re healthy and young so it’s probably just anxiety”. He kept cutting me off the WHOLE appointment, asking questions I’ve already answered, and ignoring my other concerns. I can’t even advocate for myself at this office. The NPs, Assistants, receptionists, and lab techs are all so sweet. But doesn’t seem to be any sort of communication on the team whatsoever and I’d rather see the NP than the doctor. I do not recommend this office for any young women out there because they will try to shake your problems off as nothing. I will be finding another place that will want to figure out what’s going on with me. I wish more places accepted tricare. Unfortunately this is one of the few places in Columbus that accepts tricare."
"This doctor was called in by my husband's surgeon to see him while he was in the hospital. He was very nice and advised we could see him as a PCP since we were looking for a new one. He said to just call and make an appointment. The discharge paperwork even said to call him for follow up. We called a few days after he was discharged from the hospital and was told he would "have to be approved by the doctor" before we could schedule the appointment. You could tell by the tone of her voice she didn't really want to take the info but she did. That was over 2 weeks ago and we haven't heard a word. That is bad customer service!! He may need to evaluate his office staff. The search for a new physician continues."
"My first visit went well. He was nice, personable, and seemed to care. The second time, I saw his NP and she was very nice, but the third time, I went to see him because I was experiencing heart palpitations, shortness of breath, edema, and a warm sensation in my lower leg. First, he chewed me out for refusing to take an antidepressant for a sporadic bout of sciatica, and insinuated I was a drug seeker because I had asked for a low dose of Gabapentin for the associated nerve pain. Then he acted like he didn't believe me when I told him about my other symptoms. He kept saying it was anxiety and I needed to be on an antidepressant. He ordered an EKG, ultrasound and blood work, then failed to call and inform me that the lab work showed serious abnormal results. I only found out after calling the office and picking up a copy of my lab results. I took the labs to another doctor, who ordered further testing and helped me to work on a plan for recovery."
