Reviews
"I would give Dr. Rothman zero stars if that was an option. I saw her from 2013 - 2020. She is very intellectually informed about therapy and her modality, and she is very intelligent. However, she is incredibly lacking in boundaries, professionalism, and making decisions that are in the ethical best interests of her clients. Since terminating the therapeutic relationship in 2020, myself and a couple of providers who were heavily involved in what happened have tried multiple avenues to hold Dr. Rothman accountable for her decisions in my care, including contacting the IFS Institute, who has had no interest in hearing about the unprofessional actions of Dr. Rothman. Issues include Dr Rothman breaking confidentiality, regularly recommending I not put the things we discussed in writing so that she couldn't get in trouble for them, and late night phone calls initiated by her for things that she was upset about. Other more egregious things include her saying she would not call an ambulance after I took a medication overdose as long as I deleted my text and call log so she couldn't get in trouble and her being willing to support me in carrying out ending my life. Dr. Rothman is an international presenter and instructs other therapists, which I believe is extremely inappropriate given her obvious inability to manage her own caseload in a professional, helpful, or ethical manner. Luckily, I have spent the years since I stopped seeing Dr. Rothman getting quality help from ethical providers, but others in her care may not be so lucky. This is the last therapist in the Atlanta area I would ever go see and I highly recommend that you don't see her either."
