Reviews of Schwartz Sher E PhD
"After reading the reviews, I was nervous and skeptical about my sons upcoming appointment, but I made an effort to walk in open minded without preconceived assumptions. I’m glad I did. While I can see where other parents may mistake Dr Schwartz matter of fact and to the point personality as rude, it was my impression that she is very skilled, professional, and honest. I can imagine after so many years of practicing, she’s developed the ability to be thorough and to the point in an effort to provide help and guidance during her short time with patients and their parents. I found this helpful and trustworthy. You may not like her “bedside manner” so to speak, but you can trust that she will give you an honest, thorough and trustworthy diagnosis/ report. I was pleasantly surprised with how quickly the results were made available, and I felt they were detailed, easy to understand, and accurate, with helpful treatment recommendations. The staff was very kind and helpful EVERY time I interacted with them. The facility was clean and welcoming. I never waiting for longer than 15 mins for any appointment. My son enjoyed his time with both Dr Schwartz and the examiner that completed his longer assessments. Overall I’m very happy with my experience and would recommend Dr Schwartz and her facility to anyone in need."
"Honestly this was the worse doctor I have ever taken my child too. My daughter had testing done and needed one more test I called my insurance company for my child insurance told them what's going on and they told me to inform the doctor Sher Schwards PHD Psychologist that all the doctor needs to do is add the test to the list because it's good until April 2023 My child had a appointment video chat with this doctor the very first thing Dr Schwards was concerned about was she wouldn't get paid for this test and she didn't get paid from the last testing a few Weeks earlier and she isn't going to do this and started arguing with my child and was arguing with me because of payment she was more concerned about getting paid then treatment if the healthcare if my child because of the medical insurance she has. Honestly have never meet a doctor with the words that came out if her mouth she is for sure very unprofessional shouldn't be handling children let alone anyone else."
"I never write business reviews, but I was so appalled by Dr. Schwartz’s “method” that I feel compelled to. She met with me and my 4 year old son virtually for a possible diagnosis of ADHD. My son was feeling very shy and she asked what he likes to do so that we could use that as an incentive if he cooperated. Okay, I had no problems with that. However, he was continuing to be shy and didn’t want to talk. In particular, she kept trying to get him to recite his ABCs and when he wouldn’t she said, “Well, I guess you don’t get iPad time…I guess you won’t get to watch t.v. later….I guess you won’t get to play with your toys today” WHAT?! What does she expect my 4 year old to do the rest of the day? Also, how about an attempt at genuine connection rather than relying solely on negative reinforcement? She made no attempt to switch up HER techniques—like, hey, how about try to get him to talk about things he likes rather than ask him to perform straight away? Also, when he started playing with a toy, she asked me to make him stop. Wouldn’t that have been a great opportunity to help him get more comfortable? And then, a little later, I managed to get him to start talking to her a bit, and when he gave me a high five (which I initiated as encouragement for talking), she said, “I’m sorry you’re not making good decisions right now.” My son was confused and brought to tears. And then she tried to get him to recite his ABCs again!! Seriously? Is this the only assessment tool this lady has? I told her that my son does not like performing and said that he will respond more to other questions. She said that the assessment is also about seeing how he responds and can overcome the shyness (umm I think we’ve already seen his response, let’s move on). My son loves to do show and tell at school, will talk to random strangers, and is generally outgoing. It was her way of dealing with him that kept him shy and frankly, hurt and scared. I don’t have a degree in psychology, but I do have a masters in mental health counseling and a degree in early childhood education, and I feel like this woman has unrealistic expectations of children and little understanding of child development. She ended by saying we would need to do this again so that she can get a true understanding of his behavior and told me to call the office to schedule it. Ha! At least she made one attempt at humor that session."
"At the intake interview Dr Schwartz did not let my wife finish her sentences. At the second interview Dr Schwartz used shaming and unrealistic threats with my five year old, bringing him to tears and making him feel horrible. (“If you don’t do this we’re going to take all your toys away.”) Unprofessional, unfriendly. Dealt with my son like a mean, uneducated woman. Stay far away from her."
"This woman is CRAZY!! I did not get a good vibe from her AT ALL during my sons visit. She is very controlling, manipulative, and "man handles" situations in a VERY uncomfortable and unusual way. She snatched tissue and a crayon out of my sons hands (4 years old) because he grabbed it off the table. She is PSYCHO herself. I had to call my sons pediatrician and get him taken care of elsewhere because she took forever. Did not like her process at all. And I still have yet to get the information I need from this office. NOT a good "Psychologist" at all. Don't even know why she is in this field. Strongly believe she should be shut down. This is one that will NEVER see my face again!!"
