"Dr Cook, Dr Patel and their entire staff are vision magicians‼️ My exam was informative, interaction and more fun than I would have ever imagined. They blend classic vision corrective techniques with modern day technology in a very unique way. In my 47 years of wearing glasses, I've never enjoyed going to the eye doctor. They've earned a patient for life today. Stop by and let them know RealtorRob with Berkshire Hathaway recommend them; they'll have your vision straightened out in no time!"
"I am 56 years old. I had 7 operations on my eyes before the age of 7. The result was near perfect vision in my left eye and a lazy eye in my right. My right pupil would look like it was in the corner of my eye. I was never able to get the two eyes to work together. I always had a left-eye perspective. My right eye worked but I would have to cover the left to use it. I tried wearing an eye patch to get the right eye to activate many times but would get splitting headaches. Nothing worked. I was told by many doctors that nothing could be done. All the doctors told me that a lazy eye could not be corrected at my age. This is not true, I am proof that it can be done. It just takes a lot of hard work, knowledge and therapy. After therapy with Dr. Cook my eyes work together now. My left pupil no longer appears to point inwards but looks straight. My field of vision has increased dramatically. I am still undergoing therapy to increase my range of vision, 3-d and depth perception but mostly it is homework now with the occasional visit. Dr. Cook used some virtual reality technology to help to initially activate the right eye that I did for about 6 months or so every day, several times a day. We then worked on 3-d awareness and depth perception by working directly with therapists in his office. He has homework for patients that you have to do to strengthen the eye and increase the ability of the eyes to function together. Sometimes it is tedious and sometimes I forget but Dr. Cook is patient and gets me back on track when I'm forgetful or just get too busy with life and forget my therapy. But I cannot stress enough that you will only get out of it what you put into it. The homework I had to do to, and still do, is essential. It is true his office is geared toward the young but to be fair this condition is usually corrected at a very young age. Don't let that stop you though. I was never treated as a child. My therapy was tailored for me as was my homework. Dr. Cook treats many other conditions than just lazy eye but I can only speak to my specific treatment. The review stating his methods are out of the 90's is misleading at best. The VR technology I used certainly isn't, as well as the other 3-d technology he is using. But some methods are tried-and-true and Dr. Cook uses everything at his disposal to achieve the desired results. I cannot stress enough that if you have a lazy eye and have always been told nothing can be done to seek out Dr. Cook for a consultation. Although I can only speak for my specific problem I can tell you that his walls are lined with the letters from children thanking him for helping them to see better."
"We love Dr. Cook and his staff! They worked with my son diligently to help his vision and straighten his eyes...no surgery needed! Dr. Cook helped me get the school system involved with the proper accommodations my son needed to further succeed in the classroom. We were going to Emory vision center, saw many specialist and NON of them mentioned plans to work with the school system. Dr. Cook really cares for his patients and I am sooo thankful we found him!"
"My absolute favorite Doctor! I value and appreciate Dr. Cook’s approach to vision therapy and the massive amount of knowledge he has gained throughout his career via his continuous learning. His techniques are great because they are practical and will help you learn to see in the real world outside of the office. Many people do not understand some of the vision problems that he handles here.. well he’s the only one in GA I’ve found that truly “gets it”. some of the various vision issues (like mine) are brain related. So you can’t just slap a pair of glasses on and expect it to fix the issue. Thanks to him, I’m able to finally start seeing the world in 3D! And as a film director and cinematographer, this has helped me tremendously! And I know we’re far from complete in my treatment however, this has been a great start and a wonderful experience thus far. Even his team of specialists are all kind and skilled as well! I can’t wait to get back started with this practice. Blessings to each of you there!"
"I wanted to make sure those reading the reviews understand how wonderful the Cook Vision Center is with the needs of vision problems. I think that TGG EastCobb should probably focus more on his daughter's vision and less on the look of the office. I don't think an "old" feel to the office would keep me away from helping my child. The technology seems to be appropriate for vision correction and success of this office. I grew up in the 90's so the office was fine for me! My daughter is also in the gifted program at school. She is in 4th grade and I never knew she had a vision problem till our regular eye visit confirmed convergence insufficiency. I took her to see Dr. Cook and he said she was smart enough to adjust but it could cause a problem as she got older. We started therapy and she was finished in a little over 6 months. She is still a high achiever at school and will continue to be as she advances. Thank you Cook Vision Therapy Center! The office staff is wonderful! I wouldn't worry about the look of the office just the help your child will receive!"
