Reviews of Greater Atlanta Family Counseling
"Horrible. For a so-called therapy practice you would think you would be treated with respect and care, but this is not the case. Upon calling for an appointment, the receptionist told me they would be emailing me “ to make sure they’re a good fit for me”. This wouldn’t be offensive if I had not told her beforehand about my extensive mental health history. I asked her if she had said this due to my past and she quickly said no but said they just wanted to make sure there was a therapist who was able to give me the help I needed. Wow, given the 6+ therapists they have as staff perhaps at least one would be tolerant enough to work with someone with depression, but it sounds like these “professionals” don’t want to deal with a mentally ill person. Rude. Thanks for being disrespectful and hurtful to someone who is in need of a therapist."
"I met with William Smith to discuss possibilities to help cope with depression/anxiety. I ultimately was trying to get ESA letters for my college campus, which he helped me with well. He was very nice and seemed like he actually cares for his patients. He even gave me recommendations that were a little cheaper than the traditional therapy sessions considering I’m a broke college student. All around he was a great guy to talk to and I hope to be speaking to him more in the future."
"The staff at this practice are stellar. I especially recommend Briana Farlow, LCSW. She works from a place of incredible empathy, compassion, intellect, and wisdom. I have had the pleasure of learning alongside and from Ms. Farlow, and refer to her regularly, especially for my clients who could benefit from EMDR work. She is kind, professional, consistent, and a fabulous resource to all those who come to her, even when she cannot work with them. I especially recommend Ms. Farlow for women who are navigating transitions in their life, as she is talented and highly skilled and helping those in need to clear the fog and create a grounded, focused path toward healing, even while facing challenges."
"We have been working with Will for several months. He is warm, knowledgeable, and effective. We highly recommend him and have also met with another therapist at the practice and were impressed as well. Highly recommend."
"I really wanted to be apart of this counseling group. I was looking for a counselor that specializes in emdr and Brianna is one that I was looking into. However, I will be taking my needs elsewhere. It took her 4 days to respond then when she responded she said "I'll respond to your email in the order it was received". People come to counseling because they need someone to talk to. Some people are in a real crisis at the time that they are trying to get services and that is not what needs to be said. Counseling isn't something that you "get to when you can". You have to be sensitive to everyone needs. This is people's lives and she just seems to have no sense of sensitivity to her job or people that may want to work with her."
