"I had my experience with her two years ago and she needs to consider retiring. Very unprofessional and judgemental. I reported her to my EAP insurance not sure if anyone else did. Someone mention she is more of a judgemental aunt then a counselor and that is exactly accurate. She does not provide any tips on self care but tell you to do self care. She can really lower your self esteem and make you feel worse about yourself. Overall, I think she had a doctorate degree and I am not impressed. Sounds like she is the one that needs counseling."
"Very first session she was late. We were willing to look pass that. Session wasn't bad. Next week she had a car issue. Week after she never showed, didn't respond to any of our attempts to communicate."
"First time receiving counseling, and I'm honestly not very impressed. While she did help me think about my actions and give me some things to think about (hence why I gave 2 stars instead of 1), it just felt very uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I told her that I was feeling suicidal and that I was very introverted because I spent several years pretty much in an isolating environment. Her response was, in a nut-shell, to get over it and move forward. And I can even respect that if that's her way of counseling, but she didn't even give any ways to actually "Getting over it" and moving past it. If you're introverted and have problems talking to people, it's not just something you wake up one day and can do. If your response is to move forward, show me how? Give me some baby steps to take so I can gradually overcome it. When I told her I didn't like being in crowds or felt uncomfortable around a group of strangers, she just treated it as though it was silly and irrational. She made a lot of assumptions. and she also didn't address the fact that I felt suicidal at all and just recommended medicine. Maybe it's just because this was my first time being counseled, but honestly, I hated the atmosphere. Overall, though she gave me a lot to think about, it felt more like I was being lectured by a judgmental aunt than being helped by an empathetic counselor. I will not be coming to her again."
