"I was visiting Jackson for some work training for a week and I called and asked Coach Joe if I could swing in and roll and he was super cool and invited me to train with them all week. I’ve been to a lot of BJJ gyms and this one has one of the coolest atmospheres you can hope for. It’s a cool relaxed vibe, but still pushes you to be a competition level (if you want to be). No macho man, steroid rage feels here! Clearly what Coach Joe is doing is paying off because the amount of competition medals he has hanging on his walls should probably require additional structural reinforcement to the building. I like the very obvious Gracie style teaching and the mixture of people that attend make it really a great atmosphere. The first night I attended it was almost 50% females which I have never seen at any gym. My only regret is that I’ll likely never get to come back here again because I live so far away. All in all, no matter what experience level you have in BJJ or you just want to see what all the hype is about- stop delaying and stop in to One Academy Jackson."
