Reviews of New-Life Counseling - Michael King, LCSW
"Going there will be a waste of your time and your insurance's money. He insisted on me giving him a list of my medication because he felt it was outdated and he said he deals with elderly patients and he knows new medication would work better for me. He can't even prescribed medication. He doesn't have the authority to do so. When I told my treating physician what this "nurse " said, he told me to have him call his office. He would definitely let him know the medication I was on, was exactly what I needed. I wasn't going to him for anything except marriage counseling. This "nurse" was a waste of money and time. I requested my records from him and he had never taken a note the entire period of time husband and I went. He shouldn't be in practice. Horrible attitude."
"Well, I have to leave a star or it won't let me post. I left him a message that my husband needed some grief counseling and he called my back at 7:20 the next morning. He said that he had a cancellation at 11 and would that time work. We confirmed that time and to be there a few mins early to do paperwork. We arrived at the office at 10:53. The front door was open, birds chirping from the sound machine but an empty office. Thought something came up so I called his cell phone to find out it was laying on the desk!! No cars in the parking lot! Waited until 11:30 and we left. So unprofessional to not call or leave a note on the office door of reason he wasn't there. Would not recommend this therapist at all!!!"
"The practice is ran poorly. First visit he didn't know how to run my card and was un organized. Second visit I pulled up and him and his wife were leaving the practice. They both looked at me confused and asked why I was there and that they were going to the farmers market. I then proceeded to remind him we had an appointment that he made (he gave me the time and date). He thought I "made it up" but proceeded to say he would still see me. After that point I was very put off. His wife (she works the "front") made a comment about how they were going shopping and he said no no Ill see her. I drive almost 30 minutes to his practice and she wanted him to turn me away for something that was his fault. During the sessions we just didnt "click" and he provided no "homework" or anything to help me outside of the office. He also provided very little feed back and didnt seem to even remember the reason why I was there."
"Would give Zero stars if it was an option. This man only wants money from you or your insurance. We asked for an evaluation for anger and he agreed. When he done the evaluation he said there was no issues with anger or aggression but wanted him to continue treatment for procrastination and not putting effort to school work. My son was not comfortable with him but when we asked for the report for the evaluation he refused and only wanted to give it to us if he came back to see him. Otherwise he would say in the report my son was non compliant which was not true. He even said to begin with it was voluntary if he wanted to continue as it had nothing to do with anger. Basically black mail so he could get more money."
