Reviews of The Dojo American Karate Centers Roswell-Crabapple
"I was in search of an after school program for my 5 year old, and I am so happy we found this place. Chris and Katie are awesome and I love the family environment. Along with learning karate skills, my son has been able to express himself creatively, stay active, learn some discipline and have fun."
"Instructor Chris Walker is a giving man. He gives his time, knowledge, and energy to everyone he meets, and then thanks them for allowing him to give. I’ve been to many martial arts studios, and I can certainly vouch for this one, because of him. Some will give you only the scraps, the leftovers, of what they know, unless of course you pay a premium price, but not Mr. Walker. He will give you the very best of what he knows, asking for nothing in return. I’ve trained with Mr. Walker many Sunday classes, and I always feel welcome. He steps off the mat, after the class ends, and thanks my sister and I for coming in. This is much more than being a good martial arts instructor. It’s an embodiment of what martial arts is meant to be. It’s a reflection of a world view that - the more you give, the more you live. In an age of proprietary information and trade secrets meant to keep profits at an all-time high, Mr. Walker is a rarity, much like a gem. I consider myself fortunate learning from him."
"Our son asked to try karate and luckily Dojo was close by. They offered a free week to try out and he really liked it. The staff is amazing and the instructors work well with the kids, constantly have them laughing and somehow still get discipline and respect taught. Mr Walker is amazing. 4 years later, our son is still heavily involved and getting closer and closer to his black belt... the right way, earned. His respect for his instructors has spilled into his non karate life, towards teachers, coaches, parents and everyone. Karate taught correctly, has raised my son's confidence and his abilities in other sports greatly. I can't say enough good things about the effect Mr Walker and the Crabapple Dojo has had on our son."
"My son has been a student here for 7 years, starting at the age of 5. There is a process for earning stripes and belts, and as expected, it’s get tougher with each advancement. Respect the instructors and the process. Both are tough but fair. My son is tougher mentally and physically which helps with his academics and sports. If you are considering karate for your child(ren), I highly recommend you give this dojo a shot. Mr Walker, Ms Csoka and Mr Bennett are phenomenal! Their Jr instructors, Shay & Jackson, are pretty amazing, too!"
"My two boys tried several Martial Arts schools in the Roswell/Milton area. While they liked all of them, The Dojo was the winner. The lead instructor, Mr. Walker, has a way with kids that just works, it's a perfect balance of strict but fun. He focus' on teaching the kids to be respectful toward their parents and other adults; at the same time he teaches self defense moves and conflict avoidance. After the kids have completed the lesson for the day he moves onto to a fun game that incorporates all the skills he teaches. The students earn their belts and strips for their belts through successfully accomplishing the taught tasks. My family is very happy with The Dojo - Crabapple and it's lead instructor Mr. Walker. Edit to Add: Not sure why my review is coming up as "A Google User" as I'm signed in. R Newman"
