"Did not handle the situation with quarantine well at all last year! Refused to refund my money for costume & classes we didn’t take. Did not even give me the costume! ***I have not received any check! Why would I want a costume? She can’t wear it! Every time I have tried to contact someone, I am ignored!"
"I grew up dancing at KHSD. I spent most of my younger years dancing there and being a student teacher. I miss that place and the staff so much! They were truly like family to me. I am now watching my daughter start her first ballet class and can't help but remember how much this place and people meant to me! I wish we lived in Chattanooga I would take my children there !"
"Can't say enough about this studio. The KH staff helped to ignite my daughter's love for dance. She isn't still dancing there, but she smiles & still recalls her first big production at the Tivoli whenever we drive by. I highly recommend this place for any and all budding dancers...they nurture where some beat the love of dance right out of the kids."
"If you're a man who wants to take ballet, don't waste your time with this dump. I called this place to find out about coming by as a drop-in for their adult ballet class. The woman that I spoke with at Karen Horton School of Dance told me that they did not allow people to take drop-in classes and acted weird with me over the phone. This seemed extremely odd to me so about a month later I asked an ex-girlfriend to email the school and ask them the same thing. She received an email back stating not only that they DO allow drop-in classes but that the first class would be free and they were looking forward to having her in class! I find this beyond pathetic. These "women" know nothing about me or how much of a passion that I have to dance. This type of back country mentality is why there are no men in ballet in this part of the world unless they are either A) homosexual or B) extremely emasculated. My ex-girlfriend agrees wholeheartedly with this. In Cuba where the culture is FAR more progressive (meaning advanced), there are as many men as there are women in ballet. Those men are also revered because of the fact that there is a very definite element of real masculinity in ballet. Only very low cultured and redneck people who are BARELY out of the trees in terms of human evolution see ballet the way these people do. My only regret in writing this review is that I had to give Karen Horton School of Dance 1 star because if I could, I would give this backwoods cesspool minus 1,000 stars!"
"Grew up taking lessons from Karen, who helped me to secure the crown of Miss Chattanooga, back in the day! ;) Love her and even though I'm in my fifties, am looking into taking some hip-hop classes!"
