"I only came to see Dr. Rao once back in 2021, and I won't be seeing her again. I was there for pelvic pain, and she immediately began a very rough internal exam with no warning whatsoever, after she said "don't worry, I won't hurt you." I was in excruciating pain, and not once did she ask if I was okay or if she needed to stop. She just patted my leg like I was a dog and just said "you're fine, you need to relax." She also rushed out of the room even while I was still asking questions. On top of all that, she mis-diagnosed me and told me it was all in my head. This traumatized me for quite some time, and going to the OBGYN still freaks me out to this day because of her. I have met doctors who were more caring/sensitive about checking my abdomen or back than Dr. Rao was about checking below the belt. Unacceptable! While she may have many years of experience, she is not caring or compassionate at all. I do NOT recommend her!!"

"I have been a patient of Dr. Shobha Rao at Eagles Landing OBGYN for 16 years. She is the kindest, most professional, thorough, most informed, caring doctor I have ever had. In 2017, while under her care, I had a mammography there at her facility and the results showed a mass in my left breast. Their office had me in the breast surgeon's office the next morning! I had a double mastectomy. All of the doctors she referred (breast surgeon, plastic surgeon and oncologist) were awesome. On Dec 8, 2022 I had a full laparoscopic hysterectomy performed by Dr. Rao. Brandi, who has been with Dr. Rao for as long as I have been seeing her, is a great nurse and now schedules surgery. She was so helpful in also answering questions and concerns about my surgery. Everything went great!! I was hospitalized in Piedmont Henry for one night. She came by to talk to me and my husband before the surgery and she came out to let my husband know the surgery went well and I was doing fine. While in the hospital, Dr. Rao's partner, Dr. Ramani, came to check how I was doing. He is the nicest, most thorough, kindest, caring doctor. My nurses at Piedmont were the most caring, sweetest nurses I have ever had. I am getting ready to get hormone therapy from Dr, Rao. She gave me information and a book to read. She answered all of my questions. I trust her 120%! Her nurses are always kind and helpful. The staff at the lab are always kind and cater to my fear. The ladies at the front desk are kind and helpful. Dr. Rao is the BEST. I don't know how anyone could give her a negative rating. I will be her patient for as long as she practices medicine. 10 STARS"

"Doctor rao asked me if I wanted to die in a fat body and I honestly have never forgotten that. I should have reported this after the appointment but I was so distraught I spiraled into a deep depression. I hope you don’t go to her with hopes of being seen without being judged for being fat"

She's very passionate about her work. Dr. Rao performed a Hysterectomy, Burch Bladder procedure and Prolapse Surgery. Jennifer, Dr. Rao's Nurse is kind with a great sense of humor and cares about her patients as well. They make a great team!
