Reviews of Don Luigi's Gourmet Kitchen
"The food was gross. Sorry, but it was. My chicken cutlet was jerky textured and tough. The “homemade” pomodoro sauce tasted like it came from a hunts tomato sauce can. The Alfredo sauce was bland, it’s like they didn’t even season it, just put garlic and cream together and called it Alfredo. They gave me my extra sauce I requested in a McCormick Tupperware container. My boyfriend’s chicken Alfredo was disgusting, the chicken looked boiled and plain. There was no flavor to it. I couldn’t even sample it, the chicken was slimy? The only thing I could say was somewhat good was the bread that they gave us. A little bolio bread with some cold compound butter slathered inside. Had to bake the bread when I got home, or we would have just ate bread with cold butter on top. The restaurant was so small inside, if you’re ordering to go just be aware that you will be sandwiched between waited tables and the front desk. Boyfriend said people inside were nice though at the front desk, so 4 stars for service. I’m never going back here again. You’re better off at Olive Garden, at least their food is seasoned. The people saying this is the best Italian food they’ve ever had, honestly scare me. It’s like you can’t trust these reviews in this city, nothing highly rated is good. Sad."
"Fancy, romantic atmosphere, amazing food, great service. Family owned feeling. Cozy. The best soup I've ever had, it was a lemon orzo soup of the day, I think. Bread also great. Highly recommend. Will be back!"
"This is a small but intimate restaurant with a family friendly atmosphere. You can tell the diners are repeat customers and that customer service is a top priority because the staff was very attentive, offered menu help, and food was served with just the right amount of wait time between courses. It was also fresh and hot. They served hot buttered bread while we waited for our food and honestly not many Italian restaurants serve a choice of soup or salad before your entrees are served anymore. All the food was very tasty but the highlights for me were the white bean soup with chicken and the lobster ravioli. Can tell they are home made. Prices were good value for the food portions. If you are looking for a good spot with delicious food and great service then give this one a try!"
"Just left this amazing gem! Jenn, and the rest of the staff were absolutely amazing! Arguably the best Italian restaurant we have ever been to! Despite the small size, we did not feel claustrophobic and made the intimate dinner much better! The shrimp orgenoata was absolutely delicious! The stuffed shells and the lobster ravioli were to die for! The bread was delicious will be back here!"
"I had the shrimp bruschetta appetizer that was Phenomenal, Very fresh tasting and the Shrimp were cooked perfectly! The bread and seasoned oil that they bring to the table was also very soft and fresh with a garlic butter that they put on it. I had a "small" salad that came with my meal that was not very small but it was delicious and the balsamic vinaigrette was great as well! When my entre came out it looked awesome, it just wasn't very flavorful! I'd go there again!"
