National Criminal Defense College

The National Criminal Defense College, located at 343 Orange Street in Macon, Georgia, is a prestigious institution dedicated to elevating the practice of criminal defense in the United States. For decades, we have been committed to improving the quality of justice for individuals accused of crimes.

Our university offers the highest standard of trial skills training to criminal defense attorneys across the country. Our diverse faculty ensures that defense counsel are client-centered, trial-focused, and zealous in their representation of clients. We also prepare defense counsel to recognize and confront racism and bias in the criminal legal system.

At the National Criminal Defense College, we inspire and empower a diverse community of criminal defense attorneys to transform the legal system. Our flagship program, the Deryl Dantzler Trial Practice Institute, has been conducted annually since 1985 and includes two 2-week sessions in the summer. We also offer Short Programs on Cross-Examination and Forensic Cross-Examination during the Fall and Winter.

Our programs are attended by private criminal defense attorneys, public defenders, federal defenders, and military defense attorneys. The National Criminal Defense College is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that conducts seminars and training sessions for criminal defense lawyers, but does not perform legal services.
