Reviews of Metal Arts Guild of Georgia
"Ended up getting Covid and the school refused to let me take the class couldn’t go to the classes that I paid for cost me 250 bucks plus all the materials I spent another $300 and got zero back. Wasn’t given a refund in any way, shape or form wasn’t given an option to be able to take the class all because I got sick. There’s nothing in their policy that says anything about Covid so just beware if you plan on buying a class and you pay all this money to take it they’re not gonna give you anything back if you get sick you are expected to show up to class even with Covid."
"I have been a member of the Metal Arts Guild of Georgia for many years and have had the privilege of watching it grow from meeting at peoples houses to the current building that offers silver and goldsmiths amazing opportunities to learn from both nationally and internationally recognized artists. I just attended an outstanding 4 day workshop taught by Harold O'Connor who teaches and has his work displayed in prestigious galleries all over the world! He is one of many talented teachers at MAGG that have taught me different methods of metalsmithing. There are large flat screens in the studio that zoom in and allow for students to see what the instructors are working on during the workshop. These flat screens are also used to stream the workshop to the virtual students. I have also attended Open Studio, where MAGG offers a state-of-the-art equipped studio to use for a small fee on most afternoons. This year MAGG will offer some new outreach opportunities for our community by offering weekend workshops for the Boy Scouts to complete badge requirements. Also, a new camp for teens starts this summer, 2023, Teaching Metalsmithing to Teens. I have attended classes year-round at MAGG and have enjoyed every single class. MAGG offers classes for Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced students. If you ever need to order or pick up something for your silversmithing project check out Dallas Vincent's metalsmithing retail shop that is located on the first floor of MAGG. So, if you would like to meet some real cool people, have a little bit of fun and learn a thing or two about metalsmithing, MAGG is the place for you!"
"I really like the Classes and Instructors MAGG offers. I am so grateful that MAGG offers virtual classes. I took a class from Tonya Davidson last October (2022) and there is just not enough words to say how much I enjoyed her class. I learned so much and she offered so many tips before and after class. For me the virtual classes work the best and it is so nice that MAGG offers both virtual and in person classes. I am signed up for 2 more classes this year. One in May with Harold O'Connor and another in October with Tonya again. The class fees are VERY affordable, in which I am grateful for"
"I have enjoyed every minute of my time with the MAGG. The class I took with Piper was the greatest and having Dallas around for supplies and his knowledge is excellent. Everyone there is very knowledgeable and so friendly and eager to help when need be."
"Love this place. To be able to pay for studio hours and come in on my own time to use torches, benches, pickle, drill press, etc... Pretty much everything I can't keep at home (for safety reasons) they have available. Also, the classes are affordable and informative. The Lost Wax Casting Class with Dallas Vinson was literally the best class I ever took."
