"I have 3 children attending the school. We have experienced the exponential growth of the school over the past 10 years. The staff and families have became a part of our family and our children have had the best elementary and middle school experiences. The curriculum is Saxon phonics and Saxon math through middle school ( most teachers will tell you this is a favorite). Our middle schooler is able to take honors classes and the middle school has grown and expanded their offerings yearly. We have small class sizes (approximately 15). We have most sports offerings (things seem to be added yearly. Students are required to take Bible courses, this is truly a Christian based school. There have been some growing pains, but our overall experience over the past 10 years has been excellent. Facilities are beautiful and always expanding. Parents are required to have YES volunteer hours that can be easily obtained throughout the year to promote and insure parental involvement."
"This school has been horrible, my grandchildren learned NOTHING and they made it very difficult to transfer the credits that my grandbabies EARNED. I do not recommend this school at all, is not running based on Christian principles and values. Seems all they care about is making money, not properly educating our children."
"This is a long unbiased review, good and bad, from my personal experience here: My son started Rock Springs in 6th grade, coming from a public elementary school. Pros: I think the uniforms are great, the curriculum is tough but top notch, very structured environment, they provide daily hot meals for a small cost, fantastic sports and after school enrichment programs. When we were there, they provided Piano lessons and karate lessons, my son took bells. Wonderful Music program. He loved it. They are always building and making the school better, you can definitely see where your money goes. Their sports complexes are beautiful and they even have a splash pad for the community. I love the daily bible classes and my son raved about their weekly chapel. My son was well versed in the bible and was even able to teach me a few things. Cons: They require you work so many volunteer hours, what they call yes hours. Not all parents have availability during daytime hours and this school can be a long commute for many. A lot of parents work crazy hours or even two jobs just to provide this schooling as an option for their children. If you do not fulfill the yes hours you are charged $20 per missed hour which ends up being a hefty bill at the end of the year. Here was my biggest trouble at this school, the curriculum is TOUGH. My son came from a gifted public school program to this school and nearly failed 6th grade. They are very advanced and your first year will be an adjustment. I would not recommend this school if your child is at all challenged. I can't emphasize this enough. I thought a private school would be more individual and go the extra mile to help your child and that was just not the case. The principal was phenomenal, she was direct and communicated well and offered solutions but I found some of the teachers to be very critical and unwilling to help. They would not stay after or offer any individual assistance. Once, I even went in after school to ask about my sons progress and was told they work better with appointments. They would text me daily on everything wrong with my son, but rarely give any praise or lift him up. 6th grade broke his spirit and was one of the hardest school years I ever had. A teacher once text me to tell me my son laughed inappropriately in class, this was his first year and he was trying to fit in. It was a pretty heartbreaking how hard they were on him and he is a good kid, just had trouble getting caught up. He ultimately caught up and made great progress, but we decided it just wasn't the best fit for him. As a parent, I loved this school. It fits all the check boxes on what you look for in a private school environment, but this strongly depends on your childs behaviors and learning patterns if it will be the best fit."
