"Well I see Barry Meeks is at it again with his fake reviews. Just read one of his reviews about an employee upset over an incorrect amount on a money order. Several days ago, he wrote the same negative review (word by word) about a customer in front of him getting a money order at Walmart. But this time he used the employee name Brad and said that Brad was a bully and needs for training. Not sure why someone would just sit and post negative reviews all day. I stop at this Speedway frequently and the employees have always been so courteous."
"Was appalled when the customer ahead of me asked for a money order and the clerk botched it. I asked, was told his name was Bill,no name tag. He blamed his mistake on the money order on her and gave her basically worthless money orders. When she called him on him basically calling her a liar I volunteered to back her up. I heard her clearly twice state the amount she needed for the mo. He insulted me on top of all this stating it was not my concern. I begged to differ as he pushed his mistake on her. I thought what I stated was valid. The little bully needs more training instead of insulting customers to cover his mistake. I'll never go back there."
"This place has drastically declined since 7 11 has purchased the local Speedways. The parking lot, the first thing you see, is just nasty, I think it's the nastiest parking lot in town. It's so bad that you better have a rag to wipe off your shoes, so you dont stain your car with oil or some other nasty sticky stuff. I have been going here for years, back when it was SuperAmerica. Never has this store been in such terrible shape. Many items that I used to purchase on a regular basis are now never in stock. And I mean simple things like a Babe Ruth Chocolate bar. If you see a few cars on the lot, you better just drive away, for you will wait forever to check out. And I mean forever. Last time, there were like 14 people standing in line, with one cashier working. I told the poor girl she needed some help, and she just laughed and replied, "it's so bad around here that everyone is quitting. " After a few other visits, you could just see the drastic decline in morale. Staff told me that they had scheduled working hours cut by 300 hours. They never have time to do the routine things that they used to do. Things like placing orders or cleaning the parking lot, taking trash to the dumpster, cooking food, etc. One staff member said, " they won't let us schedule enough people to run this store. We never get caught up, and we just let some things go. Recently, we were notified that online orders for delivery for Uber Eats and grubhub take priority, so now we have to make customers wait so we can get orders together, and at night we have to lock the doors so we can get orders together." And speaking about night, we'll a visit at this store is just unsafe to go to after dark. You see people standing around with backpacks, some smoking skunk smelling, joints. One time, I pulled up, and people were huddled beside the ice machine with a syringe needle in their arm. When I went and told the only girl working, she left her customers in the middle of a transaction, went outside, and yelled at the people, saying she was calling the police. After the situation, I talked to the poor girl, and she said that they only let one person work at night. She went on to say that she was quitting. She just couldn't take it anymore. How that she is so busy, she can't keep track of what goes on outside, and fact she was so disgusted, because as she rings people up, other people by the dozens just come in and walk out with all kinds of stuff. She also said that the police just will not respond to her calls for help. You could just see in her eyes how distraught she was. She no longer works there. With only one person working, usually a female at night, it's only a matter of time when one will be killed. That's how bad it is on that lot at night, especially on the weekends. The bums that are always standing around will hound you for a cig or spare change as you exit the store. I highly recommend several things, like hiring security guards to keep traffic down at night. Schedule more people so customers are waited on in a timely manner. That one self checkout kiosk that is always out of order just doesn't cut it. CLEAN THE LOT, Have at least two people working at night, hey, you might be able to clean the lot if it gets slow. Right now, as it stands, this store Is in pathetic shape, and I have a feeling tens of thousands of dollars of inventory go missing every month because of a lack of staff presence. If nothing is done, I predict a night employee will end up hurt, losses will increase because people just don't want to visit a store like that. But in the end, maybe 7 11 just needs a tax write off."
"Just like every other speedway around needs updated really bad, but the employees are pretty nice"
"8th st. Speedway is a daily ritual for me. Lol! The store is always clean, the staff are nice and they don't care to help you when you need it! And their food..... I know its the same at other speedways but they don't burn the food there and of course the food area is always clean!"
