Reviews of Columbus High School
"CHS. What does it mean? C-H-S. Colombic Height Stress. Colombian Haitian Santa. Cauliflower Holograph Simulation. Cat Hat Sock. It could mean anything. Really the meaning is irrelevant, when one considers the vast possibilities for deeper meanings far greater than what three meager letters could ever attempt to represent accurately. Truly, it is one of life's greatest mysteries. Who are we to assign purpose to words? Sounds to letters? Purpose to sounds? The human language is an illusion. All life is an illusion, as far as we know. Which is not far. Life is clearly meaningless and an unfortunate waste of the essence of space movement known as time, therefore I will soon exit this world and move on to the infinite galaxies and universes beyond this minute speck floating through space that is earth, and it's infection of life-sucking parasites that are humans. Please wish me well on my journey. Anyway great school, 4/5 stars, would recommend."
"I've gone to CHS for four years and it is an amazing school. There are many different personalities at CHS, so you won't have a problem "fitting in". Nearly all of the teachers will teach you everything you need to learn. They genuinely want you to succeed, so as long as you work hard, you'll be successful at CHS. Freshmen and Senior year are the hardest years because you're adjusting to high school (Freshmen year), and you're trying to balance school, work, senior project, college apps, scholarships, ect (Senior year). Time management is very important at CHS. Procrastination can really hurt you and your GPA if you make it a habit. Also, be sure you can manage your stress levels because there will be a TON of work. In the end it'll all be worth it. You're going to the #1 school in the state of Georgia!"
"I came here freshman year expecting rigor and difficulty, but I had underestimated the level of difficulty that i would really face here. Let me start from the beginning, a very good place to start. I walked into school on the first day feeling like a lost ant in a colony of badgers, I am a small person and honestly, no one was very welcoming at all. I had a few friends that I knew from my middle school but I had barely any classes with them so it was killer. I would go home everyday for about two months and I saw no end in sight to the torture, but eventually it became better. When folks say the teachers are hard and assign tough stuff they are not joking, something else that is tough is the fact that not all the teachers let you use the bathroom and there is not enough time in between class change, so your bladder nearly explodes everyday. Sophomore year was fine, but this year, my junior year has been a struggle. You can compare this year's struggle to a one legged lizard trying to ride a unicycle up a hill in the middle of a blizzard with a blindfold on. There are a good amount of annoying folks here and I am not looking forward to senior year that much, but I am looking forward to blasting out of here. CHS is a college preparatory school and it helps a lot, but in order for it to help you must first be willing to submit to the inevitable outcome of depression and extreme stress."
"My first year as a freshman is going awesome!! I'm so glad I applied to this school. It definitely prepares you for a higher level in my opinion. The teachers are amazing and all care about your learning, and it's a great environment all together. We are a big family, really! β‘β‘"
"Definitely the best school in Columbus, and officially #1 in the State of Georgia. I've spent three amazing years here thus far and plan on another great year at CHS. The school requires much hard work to receive a diploma, but upon graduation you are guaranteed college success through the high schools excellent program."
