Reviews of Chamberlain University College of Nursing - Atlanta
"I was previously a student in 2018/2019. I LOVED IT. I recently inquired about reenrollment. I explained that I knew it’s been a while and wanted to make sure my sciences and other classes were good before proceeding. I was told everything was good. I repeatedly stated that if I had to repeat my sciences I didn’t not want to continue the process. I was assured that my classes were good. Two days after classes started I was withdrawn, without notice. I called to inform that I did not see my classes in canvas. The advisor informed me that they rechecked my transcript and that I would have to retake my science courses over. MY INITIAL CONCERN!!!!!! I QUESTIONED THIS SEVERAL TIMES!!! Now I’m Being charged for a background check and fingerprint that I have not even done! And they will not waive the fees ALTHOUGH THEY gave me the wrong information. WHAT A SCAM!!!"
"At first it was a little hectic because my admissions counselor had some personal things going on I didn’t know about so I emailed his boss and they gave me a new admissions counselor. But I spoke with Jennifer a higher up and she was amazing and got me started in just a few days. She was communicative, professional and super sweet!!"
"Chamberlain Atlanta students services tried everything in their power to make sure I did not get into pharmacology for this July session even though, for the past 2 weeks, the system showed available seats for the online course. Also, our pharmacology professor regularly wrote misinformation on the board the entire session and argued with students when they would ask for clarification. She vehemently refused to ever reiterate herself to reteach a concept. This has been a horrific experience. There is no support here. You are on your own, and excellent job to Chamberlain for extending my time with them from 2024 to summer 2025 over a minor accommodation they could have made but refused to! Please apply elsewhere! The professors are quitting left and right. They are not properly staffed and do not care about your success."
"I'm currently a junior here at Chamberlain I attend the Atlanta campus, I must say I have had some instructors that go up and beyond to help their students, while others are quick to dismiss, nor help, or own up to their mistakes. On March 11, 2022, I was dismissed from the Med-Surgical 1 course due to a failed med calc exam with a withdraw with fail. On my first attempt, my computer underwent a malfunction which caused me to fail the exam receiving a score of 17 out of 20, which they ensured me nothing could have be done nor could I have appealed because of the particular situation. After my first attempt, according to the rubric I'm instructed to meet with my instructor to discuss the failed attempt. I never received a proper meeting. The situation was addressed during a brief break during lecture. Still not understanding the formula needed for the questions I missed nor a proper explanation. Prior to my second attempt which was scheduled to take place on March 7, 2022. I received an email stating that I needed to meet with my instructor to go over the questions that were missed the morning of the exam, The instructor was no where to be found. With that being said I failed my second attempt which I received another score of 17 out of 20. After a second failed med calc attempt according to the rubric I was instructed to seek help from a "professional tutor" to go over missed concepts as well as meet with my instructor after class for a thorough review. The review my professor gave me was un-believable. The professor decided that 2 minutes during a class break was reviewing the material. The "review" that I received was done so quickly I didn't even have time to read the questions nor understand how or why I missed the questions. I was completely rushed and the situation was dismissed once again. After the extremely short and useless review with my instructor, I then proceeded to inform her that I would set up to meet with a "professional tutor". While in class I let the instructor know that I was all set to meet with a tutor (which their name will go unknown) during that time my instructor ensured me that the tutor that I signed up with was a great source and that it was perfectly fine to meet with her, and the misleading thing about this situation is my instructor knew that the tutor was not a professional tutor and still ensured me that I was on the right path. While in tutoring I was not provided with the questions that were missed on my first or second attempt. I now understand why, it was because the tutor was not a professional and did not have the access to review my missed concepts. The instructor simply reviewed questions from a powerpoint that slightly covered some of the material. In other words this meeting was pointless. that meeting was scheduled on March 8, 2022. After informing my instructor that I attended a tutoring session with that particular tutor, I also brought it to their attention that the information that I received was completely different from the material I was learning and needed to know. The instructor still did not help. On Wednesday, March 9, 2022 I attended class, I take this particular class Monday and Wednesday 1-4 pm. While sitting in class I received an email from a "professional tutor" (whose name will also go unknown) around 3:15 p.m. that I needed to meet before my exam. I learned that the session had to be online due to the fact I couldn't walk into the VCAS office for help because no one would be there during that time. After class I proceeded to head home, after sitting in 285 traffic for more than 2.5 hours, I got home around 7 p.m. I then logged into to VCAS to look for an available appointment, there were none available for the rest of the day. On March 10, 2022, I was scheduled for a 12- hour clinical. During lunch the instructor asked me to schedule a session the morning of my exam for tutoring which I only received 10 mins of. I then fail a third time 17 out of 20."
"I see some negative reviews about chamberlain that are false, nothing good comes easy you have to fight for it. I graduated from this school and pass my board exam 3 weeks after my graduation. How many nursing schools can boost of that? It's not about running to the easiest nursing schools, you should know nursing profession is tough, not for lazy people. If you need admission info get yourself to the office and stop waiting for someone to call you on the phone."
