Reviews of Elaine Sterling Institute
"I am currently a student of ESI apart of the nail technology program. Initially was very thrilled to be starting & learning all about the ins & outs of my career. Since I’ve started it’s been nothing but a nightmare. Unfortunately, they are understaffed & have a high turnover when it comes to instructors. I’ve experienced several different instructors while being here. All weren’t bad , the last two Ms Walker & Ms Lena have really been a lot of our saving grace. They keep us motivated & actually show that they care about our education but they don’t have the tools & resources that they would like to have to give us the top tier experience that they desire to give. The program as a whole lacks structure & the director of the Rhonda program lacks accountability , along with professionalism. We the students can never address our concerns to her without backlash , animosity or tension. She doesn’t not do well with conflict resolution & it shows in the way she interacts with her colleagues. The energy in the salon is very draining . We the students have no one advocating for us & when we do so ourselves we’re directed else where with not no resolution. Inventory is nonexistent. There’s never any mani/pedi towels or basic supplies needed to provide efficient service to our paying clients. Time management is the talk of the salon which is conflicting when we’re busy improvising to make ends meet . We’ve (clients/students) been requesting a bulk of new polish for the the past 5 months have yet to receive any . We’ve requested for a system to set in place so that we have towel just for clients & a set just for learning purposes because we do understand the reason why the towels are so worn out . Even still towels should be discarded after a certain period of time. There’s never any tissue in the student bathroom & anytime we communicate with the front desk it’s nothing but attitude. To be completely honest the front desk would be exceptional if they didn’t lack customer service skills & the will to be personal able . Front desk sets the the tone for the clients visit. A lot of times our clients will arrive & we will have no indication that they are here . All in all I just want the program to improve for those that will come after me . Student affairs should definitely be implemented for the students to feel safe to voice there concerns & suggestions .Hope this reaches the eyes ears & heart of someone that is just as passionate about there career as I am mine & a course of change for the better will take place . This has been the absolute worse learning experience I’ve been apart of . A waste of a loan that has to be paid back so I really feel for those that pay out of pocket . If you’re considering attending Elaine Sterling Institute thoroughly do your research. Weigh your options & pray over what ever decision you choose to make."
"It's a great school to come to for all beauty services such a hair, facials, but I wish the school would resupply the nail students with better quality products such as DND gel nail polish again so they are proud of their end work after the service is over especially with acrylic sets and designs. They provide great customer service and do the best they can with what they have, but I believe they would accomplish more if they had quality products. Also it would be amazing if the online booking site was updates for nails. Sometimes I want to book last minute when the school is closed, but not all options that are provided in the school are available to select on the site. I then have to risk booking what I can and calling the morning of to see if I can add the additional services on. I used to get service often before the product switch and would definitely become a frequent customer again if upgrades are made because overall I love visiting!"
"I am so pleasantly pleased and surprised at the same time. My hair was so damaged and I am leaving here looking and feeling great. Thank you Eric for your direction and Nicole for hooking me up. You two were the best very professional down to earth had great conversations. I'm even interested in being a student. Thanks sooooo much. I'm new to Georgia and this is a great first experience for me."
"Every school isn’t perfect but this one is close to it. Elaine makes sure we are educated and trained on the latest machines, getting hands on practice with real clients, and completely prepares us for state board exams. I’m really glad I chose this school because I’m leaving confident in all the skills I’ve acquired while being here. All my instructors were the best and pushed me to always do my best."
"Wow! This place is Beautiful, Refreshing and Amazing. Every massage therapist I've had has been a blessing to my body! Healing hands and Professionalism is the best combination of service I've received from them. Thanks ESL."
