Elkins Pointe Middle School

"I’m somewhat disappointed in the bad reviews that Elkins Pointe has gotten. I must disagree with the majority because I still go to this school. A matter of fact i’ve been at this school for three years now. The food isn’t the best, but it gets you fed and plenty of my peers actually enjoy the food. There aren’t fights every single day, and I don’t know what some of you people are talking about when you say there is drug use in that school. The teachers are great and I actually have a pretty good relationship with all of my teacher. Elkins also helped me develop my talents of drawing and playing the violin. Also while there are many rude kids there, it’s not the schools fault that they are rude. Plus for every rude kid there are five trust worthy people that can be a freind."

"the school lunch is horrible instead of making money for other things they should make better lunch barely people eat they made a rule they want clear water bottles to see what you drink i'm not changing my 12 dollar water bottle just because they want a clear water bottle and i don't like this school theirs a lot of fights staff are barely around school is dirty they want us to clean avid program is useless the #i'm in 7th grade the administrators are horrible very very rude"

"My daughter is up until 11pm at night some days doing more homework than her sister who is in high school! The electives are also slim pickings. And my daughter is unhappy with the amount of drug activity that goes here right under the staff's nose. Administration definitely needs to implement more procedures and policies to protect our children from drugs and fights. With that being said, I do like the teachers they are very dedicated to seeing their students succeed!"

"This was a great school with great teachers and gray policys, but recently it been getting worse. Great teachers are leaving and not so good teachers are replacing them (for example, all they do is hand out worksheets and never actually teach). Then Advid and web Leader showed up.Web leader is ok, but many students do not like Advid. The 3 inch binder isn't so good, we liked it better when we had the option to choose how we organized. And Cornell notes aren't so great either. The idea is good, but why are we forced to write notes on a specific way? Also, the locker rooms. The locker rooms are absolutely crazy and there are no teachers in there. Everyday they scream and puts peoples stuff in the toilets and threatens to fight( this happens outside of the locker rooms too), and no ones does anything! this is my honest opinion."
