Reviews of Marietta Sixth Grade Academy
"This school is ok I just started..but the teacher are nice and ok but the teachers is no help at all when I'm struggling also it's getting annoying making pizza EVERYDAY.Besides that the food are good. And it soo hard to make friends there. Lots if bullying and teasing."
"I was a student at MSGA and now that it has been a whole year, I can give a review! First, I like how the principal is very nice and caring, but I don’t like how the place is filled with cockroaches and wasps. Also, there has been a lot of fights and too many projects and the food there is pretty bad.... but other than the bad things about msga, I really enjoyed having a school that’s was just 6th grade, I was pretty lost at the start of the year, but knowing that everyone else was pretty much in the same position as me, I felt much better haha"
"This school is overall an Awesome school. I love all my teachers: Ms. Bryant, Mrs. Gutierrez, Mrs. Jennings, Mrs. Comer, and Mr. Felix. They are the BEST teachers i have ever had at any of the schools i've ever went to. I think the food there is okay, but like almost every school the food isn't great. Most of the students are nice but sometimes there are fights and sometimes people get bullied. The principle is really nice and tries his best to keep the school a fun and safe learning environment. I recommend trying this school but it may not be the right place for everyone, especially people who can't handle someone making fun of them. Everyone makes a couple jokes about other people at my school and that is just how it is. But i really like this school."
"Decent school I was on team 6-2 last year and it wasn't so bad. Also the uniforms are pretty cheap around 7$. Reading connection was my favorite class. SS and Math were the hated classes that's mostly it. Some bullies here and there. But I never got bullied."
"My son went to this school last year. I liked the IB program and wanted my son to be in a school system that I thought had his best interest at heart. However, Ms. Ashley Powell, the advanced math teacher did nothing but bully him and the other children in her classroom. As one of the few African American females teaching a subject that most males excel, it would have been nice for her to not take her anger and bitterness towards African American males out on her students. One of my son's friend had to have his mother go to the school to get his coat because Ashley Powell would take the kids coats if they were considered out of school uniform and toss the coats on the floor in her classroom. The coats would remain there until the end of the week or until she felt like giving them back. Several of the teachers have disrespectful attitudes and lack professionalism. Emails are not returned, grades are not entered in a timely manner, teachers do not answer direct questions but instead talk around the question, and "ass" is a term used to refer to student(s). I understand that teachers lie because they are after all human. However, if you are tired of teaching please find a new profession. This is not the case for all of the teachers, however, it only takes one bad apple to spoil the rest. Such a toxic environment during a time when children need the most guidance and direction."
