Reviews of Garrett Middle School
"As someone who is a current student at this school and has been for the last 2 years, I’ll say it’s ok. It has many clubs and extracurricular things you can join but here’s my issues with the school. The dress code is outrageous. You have to wear solid colors which is understandable but if it has a symbol on it, it can’t be bigger than a quarter, if you refuse to take it off, you get written up which takes away certain privileges, or you have the option to wear it inside out. There’s writings all over the walls in the bathrooms (both boy and girl) and it’s extremely dirty in both. There’s constant fights and not to mention if a few students get in trouble, everyone gets in trouble. The teaching is decent. To be honest, not a lot of teaching is done. You receive a packet and a page number and are expected to be done with it by the end of class. Then, a couple of days later, you get a quiz on it that counts for a grade. If you fail, it’s on you according to the teachers. Also, I know school isn’t meant to be fun but kids aren’t learning. They’re bored, therefore there is no motivation or goal to receive an education. It’s useless. It’s not a bad school but it’s not the best either..."
"There is a lot of problems at Garrett middle school like all the males (not all) flippenin think there smart even though they act stupid and say they’re “savage” I’m trying to learn and be a better person at this school (I’m a student) their parents should teach them better also, there is a lot of fights and bullies I’m a victim of this bullying but I still manage to survive this school a lot of people think they can do things at such young ages like d8 and sell things even though that’s forbidden at Garrett and no one dose anything about it except talk about and hope for the best. Anyways the one thing I like about this school is the cookie man fundraiser, overall don’t bring yur child unless they can behave and do what they Are told thank you for reading this and have a nice day"
"Reasons why it's the worst school. - No one cares of there education - Full of disrespectful students - No one follows the rule - The students never shut up -Teachers yell and get mad so easliy - Can make your kid depressing or stress out *If I were a parent reading this. I would never take my kids to this school even if it is the only one in fhe world. I am doing it for my kids education and health.* - The students are very bad influence - The students judge and bully anyone if they are not your friend or you are not a 'savage' or if you don't act 'savage' - The teachers honestly do not care for your kids grade - The teacher never do anything or punish the bad kids they just say 'Gator Mark' Which doesn't do anything to learn them a lesson. Bonus- This school made me suicidal."
"Do Not register your kid here the building is very nasty and old huge roaches come out. The students are very ghetto and mean also the 8th grade administrator mr.chavous is very strict he will write your kid up for anything. Without even listening to ur kid the only nice administrator there is Mr.Chandler now he is nice but he can be mean also the white teachers are very racist to blacks and the teachers curse sometimes"
"Graduated recently, now doing 9th grade. Really enjoyed the overall experiance of the school, yet the condition of some of the halls were insane. They did repaint a lot of the walls in the school each year, yet they would end up scratched up. The cafetria was decent, nothing too special. Really loved the theater and the library areas. Decent school if you have no other choice but to go to it, graduated with A's and B's overall. It really depends on the students. Teachers were helpful in certain grades (Ex: 6th grade was helpful, and 8Th grade teachers and staff went out of their way to help the students of that grade, but 7th grade seemed to be the least helpful grade. )"
