Reviews of Pharr Elementary School
"This is a great school. My two girls love going to school everyday. The teachers work well and communicate well with the students and the parents. I'm glad my kids go here."
"I am NOT impressed with the school. Also not impressive that their rating is still this low with this many teacher, obvious, teacher -self promoting reviews . It's kind of unethical isn't it... I moved from a title 1 school to go to this school zone. the kids on the bus say and do horrible disgusting adult themed things. Just as are more disgusting than the low-income School ! Huge difference between the two schools is that the teachers and staff are all kinds of Snotty, Rude, and stick to policies and themselves; rather than caring about the lives and education of the small children they entrusted with! Please do not try to offset my review with your review specifically regarding calling most of the teachers and general Stern. If it was your perspective what other describing words would you use for alleged educators that do not take into consideration variables such as 8 year old children need more than a 25-minute break period During the course of an 8 hour day. The students are held to the same expectations as adults. No Smiles no relationships no bonding nothing does stern teachers providing the curriculum-based education with little to no other effort put forth with to go the extra mile and your chosen field of profession. Warning have teachers for gifted classes like most School and they have very mean teachers in the classes for the opposite of gifted! And would avoid any teachers with last names beginning with ph I have found the teachers to average or adequate, at best... some of them being abysmal. Truly negligent and ineffective educators. in 3 years with two children not one teacher has made me say wow- you impresses me! or the staff wow- I can see how that is a principal! If you request a simple class change due to poor chemistry with a teacher naturally they will never give you results that are best for your child nor even consider a compromise! the ONLY care is to follow their arbitrary guidelines of the law while providing a below-average education. It's more like gossip time and shut up kids for moms that decided to go back to work or something that kind of environment going on... at least they did get somewhat of an education that's all I can say nice..."
"Good education...but the food is bad,and many teachers are stern, rude, and sometimes appeal to girls more. But some teachers like Mr.Harrison and Mrs.Stone feel like they're your friend and teacher at the same time. -Christian"
"Kids do inappropriate things and I got bullied in front of the teacher Mrs. Dye and she didn't do anything about it! I'm so glad that this my last year at Pharr! The teachers are rude and sometimes we are punished for no reason! My friends are the only one there for me and I feel unsafe there!"
"I taught here for 7 years, and was loved by the vast majority of children and parents alike. This school is a family- with teachers giving their all to support the differentiated needs of their children. There is a focus on character education as well as academics so students leave caring about themselves and their community. Parents are encouraged to be involved. Some of the below comments amuse me... Clearly a few disgruntled parents venting online. Immature... and misleading. The custodial staff at our school is amazing. As a teacher, I was supposed to ask for help to even move a table, as they didn't want the floors to be scratched. The school is clean, the staff is friendly, the parents are great, the children are well-behaved and amazing, and the teaching methods are creative, engaging, and diverse. Pharr Elementary is a school I'm proud to have taught at!"
