"There were some complications with the website and filing this year. The website itself sent only dead and errored links, and would not update my return so I could file. It was NOT the fault of the employee! The employee helping me was very sweet and did all she could. It was the fault only of the website and the system being used. The system itself didn't want to accept ANYTHING that was entered, and confused even a manager, and senior member of the team. It took 3 or 4 times repeating every single number and reentering everything before it would finally go through. The video/audio quality was also an absolute nightmare. Again, not the fault of the employee helping me. But if you're going here, please go in person. Messing with things online just isn't worth it. It's an absolute nightmare."

"I'm shocked by the rude and disrespectful treatment I received today from an employee named Trisha. I have filled using HR Block for the last 8 years and recently moved to this area from out of state, so I needed to find a new HR Block location. This year I got married, and my husband and I had particularly complicated taxes, so we called to make an appointment with a local HR Block. Prior to the appointment we called and explained some of the questions we had regarding our taxes, and we were assured that Trisha would be able to help us out. Once we sat down and began explaining our situation things escalated quickly. Trisha's tone was rude and curt right out of the gates. We ignored it initially, and explained some of our more pressing questions, specifically my husband mentioned that we live separately because of his disabled son. Trisha asked "why" (just like that, clipped and snarky) and we explained again that his son's disability makes it impossible for us to all cohabitate. She responded with "yeah so, what?" We were shocked by this cold and callused response. We asked her to clarify what information she needed and why she needed it and she launched into a tirade about how she can't do her job if we don't answer her questions. Her tone was invasive, dismissive, and aggressive. Instead of explaining what information she needed from us, and why, she continued berating and interrupting us every time we answered. Now confused and a little shocked we tried to calm the tension. I even apologized to her in case we had inadvertently offended her. I tried to get us back on the right track but she got more and more heated and rude. She began perseverating about how we better answer all her questions or she won't help us. I've never had someone be so rude to me out of no where and without provocation. It was deeply upsetting, not to mention her disrespectful tone regarding our disabled child. After only 5 or so minutes of this tense back and forth it was clear we were not going to be able to work together. We asked for her last name, which she refused to provide. When I asked if there was a manager or senior associate I could speak to, she said "Mel" but wouldn't provide a last name for the manager either. We left and I was in tears. I was shocked by her lack of professionalism and how rude she was to us. Both my husband and I never raised our voices, or engaged back in a disrespectful manner... It was bizarre behavior and truly surprised us both. I cannot believe the rudeness and ugliness of the interaction."

The cost is less than some of the “free” online services (who then charge you to e-file), and the service is personal and customized. Why did it take me so long to find H&R Block?!"
