Reviews of Great Beginnings Preschool Inc
"My daughter is new to day care, so it was tough finding a school where she felt comfortable enough to be away from Mommy all day. Three schools and a bunch of non-refundable registration checks later, we found Great Beginnings and we are so glad we did! They welcomed her with open arms...literally! Every time I would come to pick her up, there she was in the arms of her teacher. I could just tell that they cared. It also a very clean facility. I HIGHLY recommend this school to any parent."
"After reading some of the oldest reviews (below) and meeting one of the owners, Judy, I was a bit hesitant to enroll my son here. However, I did a public records search on each of the owners and absolutely nothing unusual came back. Judy seemed a bit abrasive at first (we were discussing my only child, after all... I'm "that mom" who asks EVERY question, in her defense) and Dale is pretty... militant, but I'm glad I took this suggestion from friends and gave Great Beginnings a chance. After almost a year with GB, it's easy to see that this is very much a hands-on, family-run business. They really care about their children and the service they provide to our community. I wasn't wild about my son's first teacher but she was relieved of her duties soon after we started attending. They don't appear to have any qualms with turning staff over when they're not a good fit, which I see as a positive, but most of the key (and very pleasant) faces have remained the same since we started there. The teachers truly love the kids and, in my experience, do a great job teaching the children age appropriate skills/lessons. They welcomed (after some deliberation) my son's cloth diapers and have since taken in several additional cloth diaper toddlers. The facility is always clean, smells nice, and the price is unbeatable. Honestly, they could charge quite a bit more each month for their tuition and it would still be a good value. Cons: Snacks. The snacks provided with tuition are not ones that I would want my child to eat on a daily basis. This is a non-issue for me as I send my own snacks and lunch with my son. It is nice that snacks are provided, though, when the UNTHINKABLE happens and there are no healthy snacks in my house :) Religion. The older children sing a prayer song before lunch... They don't, however, use traditional christian holidays as opportunities to teach bible lessons, which I appreciate. In all, if you can overlook (or appreciate) the pre-meal prayer and the sporadic super-Christian-and-even-more-Republican-but-usually-hilarious unsolicited wisdom from Mr. Dale, you'll probably be glad you chose Great Beginnings for their cleanliness, solid education, affordability, friendliness, LOVE, and the occasional umbrella escort to your car in the rain. My son isn't just a student at GB; we're all a part of the family and, for me, that's priceless."
"My son started attending Great Beginnings Preschool when he was two. I had to move him to a different daycare because I relocated to a different job. This was a big deal to me because I absolutely LOVED the center he was at before. However, it didn't take long for me to realize that he was receiving the same level of care at GBP. The GBP staff is a good group folks that care deeply for each child that walks through their doors. My second baby was born this past February and was actually one of the first infants to be enrolled in Baby Beginnings. To be honest, I was a little concerned about enrolling him because caring for infants was new to the preschool. After the first day, I realized that Ms. Yolanda (the infant teacher) is awesome and I knew my newborn was well cared for! This is a great, family run business and I would recommend to anyone!"
"My daughter has been going to Great Beginnings since she was a year and a half. She was going from her grandparents care to a center. I was very scared and upset at the thought of leaving her. Of course she cried the first day. I know I did. They reassured me that this was normal. They even told me that I could wait away from view of my daughter and I could see that within a few minutes she was playing and happy. I chose several diffrent days without the staffs knowledge and observed, They were right within a few minutes of leaving she was fine. Before the age of two she was singing her ABC's and could count past 20. Family could not belive it! Before she was in VPK she was singing all 50 states in alphabetical order!!! I don't many adults who can do that!! My daughter graduated from VPK this past spring an outgoing, intelligent, confident, and funny young lady more than ready to take on the big world of Kindergarden. A lot of that has to do with Judy, Dale, Katie, Justin, Christine, and all the other great folks of Great Beginnings. I have also had my older two children in their summer camp Cool Kids Club! Everyday they would come home and have something to share about the adventure they had that day. I could not have picked a greater group of individuals to help with the molding of my childrens minds. I have had Miss Christine personally care for my children outside of the center. Dale is loud but that because he is hard of hearing but he cracks me and the kids up! Justin has been a great role model for my son. Miss Katie has been a great teacher to my daughter in VPK. My daughter is more than ready for "big girl school" she is going in with confidence because of Miss Katie. She has been kind to my entire family. She even went and bought lunch for my daughter when I forgot my daughters lunch bag in the car! Mrs. Judy is a caring and very thoughtful person who has always been honest, caring, and has done more for my family that would take two lifetimes to repay. I have intreacted with all of the staff and I am ashamed I do not know everyones name. they greet me with a hello and give loving hugs when my daughter runs to them to say goodbye. I would highly recommend going in a taking a look. This family ran business has shaped and molded young minds of this community for close to twenty years."
"I love Great Beginnings. After having my girls in home day care, I put them here. I was so apprehensive about them starting preschool. They both went in like they had always gone here to school. My oldest attended VPK there last year and had the best experience. My youngest is now attending VPK there and is loving it as well. She has made so many friends. I have had the pleasure of working with Miss Katie for 2 years now. She loves my girls as if they were her own. I would not have put my children anywhere else. I just love all of the family and staff at Great Beginnings. I have family that I recommended Great Beginnings too and they have their children there as well and love it."
