"My daughter has gone here for over 3 yrs! I love the admin, they are consistently communicating with me and my child feels safe and enjoys being here!"
"I love this daycare ❤️ the teachers and director is very welcoming. My son enjoys it here."
"The best childcare center in the lithonia area. Very professional, caring teachers, and fun activities for the kids. My son begs to go to Powell’s everyday after school. They run a great summer program as well. Ms. Powell and Ms. Grant run a fine business. Thank you for everything."
"At first the center seemed like a decent place to let your kids go but after awile I started to notice some very small issues that slowly turned into bigger issues. The staff is very transient; there's always new people working there. The children are sometimes treated unkindly, and the staff is very disrespectful. They tend to cover up situations by brushing it off like it;s no big deal and they get very confrontational when you ask them information that's relevant to your child's personal health. They overcrowd the classrooms and the materials that the children use are sometimes outdated; they only get new things when it's time for their annual review (Quality Control). After allowing my children to attend this facility I am very disappointed in how my situation was handled. I pulled my girls out immediately. If you choose to let you child attend this center...please, please, please stay on them and pay very close attention to your children and the staff."
"I went to Powell's one time with a handicapped child. Funny, I thought they may cater to handicapped kids since they had a ramp for a wheelchair. After being turned down by Kids R Kids and KinderCare, I was a little hopeful. Well, I shouldn't have been. I guess that ramp might have been for the handicapped parent. SMH The owner, an older lady, didn't seem too excited because of the potential work it took to take care of an 11 year old wheelchair bound child. Needless to say, I was told she could go on NO FIELD TRIPS, and she would have to stay at the center when the other kids left. I didn't want to do that, but I spoke to the child and she said that was okay. Just a selfless child she was. She just wanted to be part of an activity where she could be around other regular kids. I was told to call her back in a week and she would let me know definitely after she spoke to someone about it. Needless to say, I called for 2 weeks and not only was she not returning my calls, but it seemed like she instructed her staff not to give me any info on when she would be available. Well, I started to go there in person, but I got the picture. Summer was less than a week away and thank God I found God's Little Angels daycare on Covington Highway who welcomed her with open arms and asked me what they could do to get more kids like her in their center. What a welcomed relief and they made that child feel so welcomed and she was excited about participating in ALL FIELD TRIPS and she had the summer of her life. Thank God for daycares like God's Little Angels who cater to all kids not just able ones, even the ones who may require a little more work. They didn't realize it at the time, but they made that little girl's summer very special and made a huge difference in her life. I just wish Powell's had just told me they didn't want to bother instead of misleading me. SMH"
