Reviews of Meadowbrook Montessori School
"As an educator I cannot recommend this school. My daughter has some developmental delays and was asked to leave AFTER collecting tuition for 6 months. The owner Barbara is not professional by any means. I am glad that we are no longer at this school. If your child is not considered “normal” by Montessori standards or the owner’s standards please look elsewhere."
"I have two daughters who currently attend this school. One when she was just 10 months old and the other at 3. They have been there 4 years now. I cannot stay enough of how amazing this school and staff are. They are so caring, loving, attentive yet professional. My daughters love their school and cannot wait for the weekend to be over to return. This school is a GEM! Both girls have grown to be mature, caring and smart girls. My oldest was reading and doing first grade workbooks before entering "Kindergarten" level. Very impressive. I know this would not have been achieved at a regular preschool. I know when she enters 1st grade she will be more than ready and advanced. Everywhere I go, I am given compliments on how smart, mature and well behaved they are. MBMS also teaches people and life skills, not just academics. They bake, clean, learn manners and teamwork. The staff is easily accessible for any concerns. They are like family and treat the children as their own. I have researched and visited 11 Montessori schools before closing this one, and I couldn't be more happier. AMI certification is also a BIG plus. They have a simple and safe carpool system, of which they take and bring the kids to your car! Thank you MBMS for making my children love education and excelling in their vital 1st five years of their life!! I cannot wait to see how they soar through elementary and their future!"
"When expressing a concern I had about one of the so called teachers the director Barbara did not once try to reassure me that my child is in great hands or even try to make me feel like she cares about what I’m saying. Instead she made excuses for her so called teacher. My child had some issues following directions. I explained that this is her first time in a school setting and will take time. Instead Barbara said based on today she won’t be able to move on in August, which is 6 months from now. Not once did she reassure me that they will continue to work with her to see how she progress. Her responses were very disconnected and cold. When my mother asked what is the background in childhood development of one of the so called teachers, Barbara did not answer and said that no matter what she says I’m still going to be upset. I was more sad and disappointed than upset. Instead she asked if I want to take my child out of the school because of our “tone” and we seemed “hostile” because my mother and I continued to ask more questions about this “teacher” and I became tearful. She dismissed my child from Montessori with no explanation or reasoning. Then followed us outside to apologize which wasn’t sincere at all and felt very antagonizing. Barbara pretends to care to get you in the door but is more concerned about money it seems. They also have a carpool at the end of the day which is very rushed and chaotic. I’m is not safe for toddlers to stand outside with moving cars. Then when your child gets in the car, they want you to pull over to the side to buckle them in. While in line I saw my child walking to a car with another girl then someone came for her. I got out my car and got her. Why can’t parents just go inside? If you want a school that is going to hear and respect your concerns, who is willing to work with a child who seems difficult at first, that has experienced educated teachers and a director who is genuinely a nice person then CONSIDER ANOTHER SCHOOL!"
"The best kept secret in Montessori education in the north GA area!! We relocated and my daughter never once felt the struggle to adjust - the teachers and Director are phenomenal and care about each and every child- strong sense of community and they teach the true sense of Montessori education to all students- tuition is very affordable which made our decision so most easier when we relocated!"
"When searching for a school, we wanted a place that would provide a nurturing environment and the opportunity to experience more than the traditional day cares had to offer. We searched long and hard for the right school for our children and found Meadowbrook Montessori School. I love that Meadowbrook feels like a home away from home for my boys. Our family has been with Meadowbrook Montessori now for 3 years and I am thankful every day that a school like this exists for my children. My oldest son will be attending “Kindergarten” next year in the primary casa and my youngest is currently in the Nido (infant room). In fact, I was incredibly happy when the school decided to open up the Nido and that my youngest son would be able to naturally transition into the pre-primary casa at this fantastic school. I could not be more pleased with the Montessori approach to education and the emphasis on a sense of independence, freedom within limits, and respect for a child’s natural psychological, physical, and social development. Montessori education works with human nature, rather than against it. The guides in the classrooms are kind, professional and clearly have a love of teaching that I feel translates to a love of learning for the children. In addition, the primary casa brings in instructors and professionals for enrichment subjects like science, music and art. The administration is friendly, professional and, most importantly, available and hands on. I would highly recommend this school and the Montessori approach to learning."
