"I moved from Cobb County to Clayton county . This school system is backwards , their unorganized, they take money for field trips and don’t have none . I honestly feel like my kids didn’t learn nothing at all . My son gotten into a fight and no one from the school contacted me. Every since this Infection going on teachers lack the attention on the students. The only time I hear from teachers if their boss is on them about grades than they act like they care . Hopefully I can find my kids a different school because if they keep going here I fear that they would get cheated out their education ."
"The past reviews are certainly disheartening. I can attest that those aren't current.Tara Elementary is amazing! It is said that a house divided simply cannot stand. I echo the sentiment. I truly believe that because of the strength, resilience, and dedication of Dr Brown and her staff, their house has continued to not only stand but flourish. Tara has resumed building with all of the stones thrown at them. Don't just take my word for it. The numbers speak for themselves. Excellence is implemented in every last one of the students. Communication is prompt and effective.. However it does take a village. I have seen first hand how much parental involvement opportunities are made available but are not enough parents attend. There are hiccups but I do believe that the school is headed in the right direction. With neighborhood watch and improvements I do have faith that it will greatly help bring in better funding and open new doors so that the staff needs are met for future reference. Let's be proactive and work together to ensure that Tara continues to thrive. Faith without works is dead! Ijs -Alani, Isaiah, Paris Mom"
"My children have attended Tara Elementary for the last 4 years and my experience has been awesome. All 3 of my kids have finished this year on the honor roll (2 got principal's honor roll and the other got A/B honor roll) and the music program has been exceptional for my kids (shout-out to Mr. Perdue). I've never had a negative experience with my kids being at this school because I also make sure that I do my part at home. As the parent, I make sure that I do my part to help my children academically and morally and I don't completely leave it up to the teacher (as no parent should because there is only so much they can do). I will be moving into another school district this summer but I must say that I will miss this school and the staff. Kudos to Dr. Thomas and Dr. Brown."
"I am so sorry to hear such negative reviews about Tara! My son attended 1-5grades in the '70s !It was an excellent ,beautiful school with very good staff and teachers! I'm sure after all these years , things change drastically! The growth Forest Park/Morrow experienced so fast out of Atlanta probably contributed to the deterioration of this community!? I moved my Family South to Griffin ,GA in '79! My son is trying to connect with some schoolmates from that time! I thought perhaps the school could put me in touch with a group of alumni students /adults now!lol I hope you parents don't give up on trying to improve conditions at the school! Perhaps a stong turnout at the next school board meeting would get the attention Tara so obviously needs thru these reviews! My son loved his time as a student there! Good Luck to All!"
"Worst school my kids have ever went to. I observed the classrooms regularly and all I hear is teachers yelling at students and children having outburst in the hallway. I come to this school on a daily basis because i realize this school wants to blame my son for his behavior. But how can you control the classrooms when you are over crowded with students and yelling at them at the same time. I wish we had a better choice before moving down the street 3 months ago. Please monitor your child in class."
