Ashford Park Elementary School

"I had my son in this school last year for kindergarten and I hated it!! I do not like this school I do not refer this school to anyone! This school told me the second month of school last year that they would be holding my son back because he didn't know how to add and subtract and he didn't know how to say his ABC's in order or count to 100 now remind u it was only the second month of school when they told me this! The teacher talked so fast that I couldn't even understand half of what she was saying so it made me think how is my son learning from her! They seemed to care more about money than they did my child I have withdrawn my son out of this school he will never go back and I will never put another one of my children in this school!! And on top of all of that they would compare my son with other children when we would have parent teacher conference! And to me that made me feel like my son wasn't good enough for that school! They don't have any slower class for children that are a little slow at learning (not all children learn at the same pace but that doesn't mean the child is dumb) I do not recommend this school to anyone that isn't rich and to anyone who has children that don't learn the same pace other children do because this school will just hold them back and push them to the back of the class and compare them to other children that are more advanced in class making u feel like a bad parent!! At least this is how they treated my son and me the hole year he was there!!"

"My oldest son has attended Ashford Park Elementary since Kindergarten. He is now in the fifth grade, and the education he has received here has been excellent. Caring teachers, a great gifted program, and a lot of parental involvement from the neighborhood. If you live in Dekalb County, I don't think there's a finer Elementary school you could send your children to."
