Reviews of Primrose School of Midtown at Colony Square
"This Primrose had a three part interview process in place for selecting a suitable candidate. During the final stage, an applicant who was notably overqualified expressed her desire for more competitive compensation to match her qualifications. She highlighted how Kerri, the franchise owner and Hailey, the director, seemed to exploit paying individuals an unlivable wage within the range of $14-16 per hour. Unfortunately, despite being impressed with her skills and experience, the school decided not to offer her the job due to these requests. The applicant respectfully accepted their decision and left after completing the in-person meeting. However, events took an unexpected turn when she sent an email recounting her overall experience and discrepancies in the job listing. For some inexplicable reason known only to Kerri herself, the emails prompted Kerri to call the police on the day after the email and interview, as if some unlawful acts had taken place during their short-lived interaction. Upon investigating further into these baseless claims made by Kerri against this pursued applicant, it was determined by police that absolutely no actions deemed unlawful had occurred during any phase of their engagement. Furthermore, displaying a misguided sense of authority or perhaps just fueled by personal animosity and jealousy towards this person seeking employment opportunities; Kerri instructed security personnel on-site to escort the applicant off premises whenever spotted in the square again and she stole several photos of this applicant from personal social media pages to give to the security- despite clear indications from higher-ups indicating that such measures were unwarranted and unjustified. This applicant was embarrassed and approached by six security officers on a Saturday(Interview took place on a Wednesday), while working at a coffee shop, to exit the property only later to be told that it was a mistake. This series of incidents revealed not only Karen-like tendencies within Kerri's behavior but also exposed how she exploits people."
"My son has been a student (Older Infant, Toddler, Early Pre-School) at Primrose Midtown for over a year and it has been absolutely a fantastic experience. I highly, highly recommend. Individualized Attention. Your child is not a number here. Daily, each and every staff member you encounter, greats you and your child by name with a smile and hello. Your child's dietary, social, and health needs are prioritized and cared for. For example, my child tended to have issues biting when frustrated. Rather than just belittle our child or our parenting, Ms. Jaquelle worked with us to understand some of the triggers, and even provided us with a copy of "Teeth Are Not for Biting," to take home and read to him. She followed up with us consistently on this behavior. Communication. Primrose goes out of its way to make sure you know what your child is doing each day. Throughout the day via the Procare App, you see pictures and videos of your child during activities. For new parents like us, this provides piece of mind to see your child smiling and having fun. Further, you can message the care givers in real time regarding your child, like in case pick-up plans change. Finally, consistent emails keep you up to date on upcoming events, like outside play or book sales. In short, you are never in the dark about what is happening. Curriculum. Primrose emphasizes education through repetition and consistency. For example, during Older Infant and Toddler, each morning the children are read the 'Rules of the Roost,' or the behavior rules (i.e. be kind to each other and yourself, use inside voice when inside, etc). By the time my child left that level, he had the rules memorized. Safety. Again, Primrose goes above and beyond. Staff consistently execute fire and active shooter drills. This assures me that staff will know how to proceed during real-life situations. Sadly, on three occasions, actual active shooter situations occurred in Atlanta, and each time, the staff at Primrose were prepared and kept the kids safe. Pride. Primrose Midtown is a well run organization. You can see that every single person understands their mission and is happy to be there. My child loved his teachers and care givers, especially Ms. Lesly, Ms. Nye, Ms. Jaquelle, Ms. Brea, and Ms. Rinelle. I can't say too many good things about this place!"
"This school has been our home for the past 10 years. We are going to miss it incredibly when our youngest child graduates. The owner, Keri, and her administrative team have hired the most wonderful teachers. Our children have been loved, well cared for, and nurtured by the teachers. Also, our children have been fully prepared to attend Elementary School - they know their numbers, they have basic math skills, they have letter recognition and have even started to read - all before starting kindergarten. We cannot be more thankful to the Primrose Midtown team. Thank you!"
"We love Primrose School at Colony Square. They have taken such wonderful care of our 2 children who started shortly after we moved to Atlanta at 18 months and 3 respectively. The teachers are nurturing and create a lovely inclusive environment to develop curious little minds. The extra care, attention and thoughtful approach during the pandemic has been amazing especially for our 5 year old who was able to stay and complete Kindergarten. Cannot recommend enough!"
"We have been part of the Primrose School of Midtown family since they opened in August 2010 and it has been an exceptional experience. The owners, director, teachers and staff are dedicated to providing the best possible care and support to young children and their families. The things we consider to be most crucial when entrusting our two young sons to others are also the top priorities at Primrose. A caring, fun, and nurturing learning environment is #1 and the teachers, administrators and staff at Primrose work hard each and every day to provide that setting for our children. Our boys literally bounce into their classrooms on any given day and they chatter on the ride home about their explorations and experiences in art, music, reading, counting, outdoor play and many other enrichment activities. Understanding the needs of each individual child and fostering trust with us as busy working parents is another key characteristic that Primrose staff demonstrate daily. Communication is critical to any successful child care arrangement and Primrose understands that. Primrose staff builds relationships with every family, they listen and take advantage of every opportunity to exchange information about your child. The teachers and caregivers make the effort to relay sweet stories and anecdotes about our boys, which makes us smile and provides that extra assurance that our children are in a good place when we cannot be with them. Finally, when issues or concerns arise, it is wonderful to know that you can bring them forward and work collaboratively to resolve them. Primrose constantly strives to deliver the best support to working families and they genuinely care about the stresses and concerns we have as parents. The director, owners and staff make themselves available and take the time to stay in touch with what is happening in the classroom and outside of it, to ensure that our children are happy, healthy and safe. Our previous experiences in child care range from a full-time nanny in our home to a Montessori preschool, church-run preschool and everything in between. We can honestly say that Primrose School of Midtown truly understands the needs of working families and young children, and they offer an amazing place for our kids!"
