"I attended Sope Creek for the second through the fifth grade. On the whole, it is an okay school, not great but not terrible. The school has an engaging set up, and there are some very good teachers from the time that I was there. But there are faults that should be focused on - things that absolutely need to be improved: Students of color, single mothers, immigrant students, and bicultural children may find an unwelcoming experience. The Target program, from my two years in it, was racially segregated, favoriting white students and excluding students of color. This is not only the experience of myself, but the experience of three of my peers. In addition, the four of us were all told by at least one of our teachers to get diagnosed for learning difficulties. We are now in high school and are perfectly normal, but the experience was nonetheless humiliating. Two of us were put into an ESL class despite speaking English fluently. Our mothers, all women of color, also had a hard time: Some of them were single. My mother was openly ostracized by an administrator before a dozen other parents for not having her husband with her - as if she needed his permission to be there. That said, Sope Creek set us up well for middle school, and later for high school. I only hope that these problems are addressed."

"I went there the whole time. It was fun! Most of my teachers were very nice :). I especially loved art day, it was really fun! :D. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because some of the teachers took away recess and elementary school is the only chance you get to have recess. Other than that it's a great school .;D"
