Reviews of Georgia Autism Center
"Dr.Travers was so patient & knowledgeable. She explained everything & the process to me & my son. She took her time with evaluating the results & got back to me in a timely manner. It is important to know not to rush the results & it can take 8-12 weeks to get them. I spent 10 plus years trying to get my son that is now 16 years old diagnosed with autism. We are so happy that we found Georgia Autism Center. They are the best. Not to mention we drove from the Augusta area & have been on the waiting list for one doctor out there until 2025, I know INSANE!!!! Thank you again Dr. Travers 10/10."
"Dr. Duncan has supported both of my children with early diagnosis process. She's made us feel so supportive and cared about. We literally drive an hour to get to her because she is beyond worth it. I would refer anyone I care about here and am so grateful for this place and all that they do to support our neuro-spicy family!"
"My Daughter had an Appointment back in June after months of waiting to be seen the day before appointment they cancelled the appointment. My daughter was going out of town till August and needed it done. They rescheduled. Now they are telling me they can no longer see her because they don't see anyone over the age of 7. I have to find someone who can now get her in and possibly have to wait another 6 to 8 months to get her the help she needs. Very unporfessional. They say they are there to help the family but it just added street and lack of care in the staff. They Don't respond to phone calls for several days to a week or more. My other son did start with them but now I am also told that I have to start all over with him as well. His testing was done but no follow ups or anything will be allowed. Have to find a new place"
"I am appalled by how the Georgia Autism Center treats these kids. So much emphasis is placed on early intervention, but yet it takes almost a year to set up an evaluation. We were informed that after the evaluation, we will receive the report in 6-8 weeks. This did not happen. No one from the office even had the courtesy to inform us that they needed more time. After we reached out we were told, that it would take about another 3 weeks to get the report. Once we received the report, there were a few concerning issues. 1) Out of curiosity, I would like to know how they triage which kids/families receive their reports first. Is it based on the date they were seen? Is it based on the severity of the diagnosis? Is it based on a perceived notion that they can't afford services anyway, so their report can wait? Or some other factors? 2) The person writing the report was not even in the room for the evaluation. Is this even ethical? Many of the things mentioned in the report leading to the diagnosis were not even observed by the evaluator. The parents aren't experts. 3) The report has things in it which don't even apply to my child. Was it a copy and paste from another child's report that they forgot to delete? 4) Everything was very rushed. Was there even enough time to make a qualified diagnosis? Overall, the quality of services need to be improved at Georgia Autism Center. These children's lives are depending on it. Better communication from staff is needed as well. It should not take 3-4 months to receive a report after the evaluation and the report is inaccurate with things that don't even apply to the child. I hope they improve."
"My experience was great her staff was patient with me and my daughter. Dr. Walker was very compassionate and patient during testing. Her team took extensive measures to make us feel at ease about the whole process. Iβ m so glad we choose Ga Autism"
