"I’ve been seeing Dr. Veliyath since January. I’m on an HMO plan so I’ve been for referrals more than anything else. Dr. Veliyath is always great but the office staff needs some serious help. Twice now when I’ve needed referrals for specialists they have complicated things to the point that I’ve spent countless hours on the phone back and forth with this office, the office I’m trying to get a referral for, and my insurance. The first time I had an issue with it they kept saying they sent over the referral (which they did) but they didn’t send it over with the authorization number on it. I have proof if you guys at the office would like to disagree. I called back and forth all day long trying to figure out what was needed vs what was sent. Probably 10 phone calls later we got it sorted but it was like pulling teeth trying to get them to fax the right thing to the specialist. Then this time I was referred to a specialist and my insurance told me I needed a referral and then Dr. Veliyath’s office told me I don’t, then I tell them I do, then they wait another week and a half and tell me I don’t. It’s so confusing and such a colossal waste of my time. I shouldn’t have to call repeatedly to beg them to do their job correctly. I never got the last referral sorted but luckily my insurance said not to worry about it this time. Additionally, I tried to cancel an upcoming appointment and had to call three times to cancel because no one did and I kept getting confirmation texts and emails. I will not be going back and I’ll warn everyone I can about this office."
