"The clinic and the doctors are great, my only feedback is about the nurse. She missed really important information about the history of my eye that the doctor needs to know. Doctor made her come back to the room and re-write it with accurate information."
"If there was a review of 0 star, I would have picked it. This morning I had a terrible experience with Melissa Giannamore. She is rude and simply out of line. I saw her last July and she was very rough around the edges with terrible bedside manners but I thought she might have had a bad day. We all do. But this morning was something else. I am diabetic and I have ALWAYS had my vision insurance cover my eye exam and my medical insurance cover my optical nerve and retina exam, called diabetes annual check. She told me this is unethical and accused me of trying to rip the insurance company and do something illegal. I explained that my former eye dr always did that and this is how it worked for me and she proceeded to tell me that he was wrong! To be honest with you, she may be correct (I’m not sure how did it work over the last five years though, I wasn’t the one who initiated the billing) and I can no longer do that which is absolutely ok except that she practically accused me of ripping the insurance and yelled at me asking me: Don’t you have to pay for your purse and shoes? I said sure, she then asked me why then I don’t want to pay for her services (meaning the pictures she took of my retina and optical nerve). I explained that I would be ok paying I am only trying to see if the insurance would pay first. I certainly do not buy myself insurance to cover my purse and shoes purchases but I buy vision and health insurance to cover my eye troubles. It is not the policy that i dont like; it is her rudeness and attitude and that she gave herself the right to address me in such an impolite and a disrespectful manner. I was so offended I let her finish the exam and left deciding I would never see her again. Not even sure if I will go to Thomas eye group again. I read online the several negative reviews on her and simply don’t understand why she is still employed there. It says a lot about the group!"
"I had a very negative experience. Major upsell effort for lens not covered by Medicare, and medically unnecessary. Billing department billed me for services I didn't ask for, didn't need. They are a factory and they try to turn you into a widget and process you. --- Thank you for your response but it is corporate mumbo jumbo. I made repeated efforts to discuss this with your billing dept, with the woman who makes cataract surgery appointments and even your CEO. None responded. I'm happy to talk by please first review my text conversations with your billing dept in which I cited the exact sections of the Medicare Providers Act that apply to me. No one was willing to discuss my experience. After you've read that interchange, use my contact information in my patient record to be in touch. Not before. Thank you."
"I brought my 11 yr old daughter for an eye visit. I neglected to do the dilation or advanced photography and was charged 160$ for an exam. Dr. melissa had giant nails and scratched my daughters faces. She did not have any bedside manner when my daughter cried from pain from her nails. Having long nails is unprofessional and gross for a doctor who exams people. She should wear gloves or have short nails to be hygienic. There was little communication about her change in vision and she did not take the time to help me understand the different lenses she recommended. I canceled my son’s appointment and think it was a waste of money because i don’t understand her prescription change. She was a cold and unpersonable doctor who i do not recommend."
"Been going to Dr. Melissa for years and she always does a good job. The advances in the equipment make your appointments more efficient and I was brought back for my appointment promptly at 3:40, my scheduled time. I was out of there in 25 minutes. Things went well. Recommend Dr. Melissa to anyone."
