Reviews of Georgia Pines C.S.B.-B.H.C.C
"I would give zero stars if I could. I also intend to take full legal action against this scam of a facility this is nothing more than a fraudulent business collecting government funds. My husband reached out through archbold to get help for depression this somehow.turned into a 1013. Over 24 hours there and he has not seen anyone for therapy or anything else. He then passes out at the facility and is taken by EMS to the hospital. Over 2 hours before someone at the hospital allowed him to let family know what was going on. (EMS initially suspected a mini stroke) my husband is not in any legal trouble nor was he forced there but he's being treated like a criminal not a patient. Whoever took him from the center to the hospital told him to have his family contact the nurse practitioner about all the crossed wires to see what could be done. When we called the facility and asked to speak with the nurse practitioner whoever answered asked who we were and then said "you don't just call up here and ask for a nurse" she then proceeded to get loud and then hung up. Speaking with the caseworker earlier that day was a similar experience. Rude and condescending. I intend to take full legal action against the employees involved as well as the facility. This is absolutely not ok! These are people with fragile mental health being treated like trash as well as their families who are worried about them. When I called to find out what they're plan was or want the next step was I was met with hostility and basically told he'd sit there until they had time for him. I'm not sure where the so called "medical professionals" for this place were found but it is appealing. If the people of Thomasville want to clean up their streets they should start with this place."
"Went here months ago and I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE to this facility. They did not tell me when I checked myself in voluntarily that I couldn’t also check myself out voluntarily. It’s more like a jail. Meals served on big black trays and all. One of the women there with me actually found a BUG in her rice crispies, another violent woman there would constantly try to fight the nursing staff and because there’s no where secure for you to actually sleep, me and a roommate had our heads pet by this woman while we were trying to sleep. Many restless nights interrupted by screams. If you want HELP? Don’t go here. They offered “out patient programs” that I didn’t even qualify for when I left. So months later I’m still unmedicated searching for resources for my meds. But no, if you want a caring and stable environment for yourself, never go to Georgia Pines. It was a nightmare. The nursing staff was the ONLY positive and even then it was a handful. It doesn’t matter if you are fearful of your own safety or not they’ll still look at you like they’re annoyed and tell you you can’t leave. And even THEN BY THE WAY your discharge date can change. It’s not concrete. They can add more time I watched it happen. Also weekends don’t count so if you go despite all of this, check in on Monday or you’ll be there for a WHILE"
"I wish I knew where to report this facility. My schizophrenic son repeated gets sent there by the hospital in Moultrie and I keep asking them to please don't send him there. They never change his meds. I've asked nicely to please change his meds. They don't care about the patients or the caregivers. When you complain that you aren't getting the attention you need they threaten you with the police or APS. If they don't intend to change meds or adjust them in anyway they need to stop grabbing the mentally ill people from the ERs that are waiting for placement. Let another more capable facility pick them up. I've searched for the license number to report them and I can't find it. Almost everytime he goes in he's out a day or two and goes back in because they didn't help him the first trip. This place needs to be investigated and shutdown. Many times he's come out and if he's coherent enough to tell me anything he's told me the staff hits and abuses him. Once he finally becomes stable he sticks to the story of abuse."
"My mom was sent here after some of her prescriptions caused her to hallucinate. I would not send my worst enemy to this place. ALL of her clothes, including her glasses, were stolen. She is diabetic and dependent on insulin, but the only thing they gave her to eat was peanut butter or bologna sandwiches. A diabetic cannot survive on this, everyone knows peanut butter is full of sugar. They refused to let her have insulin and most of her life sustaining medications. It took days for a case worker to share any information, and even then, it wasn't much. They sit patients/prisoners together in front of a tv all day and no one ever sees a counselor. My mom was traumatized in this place, she had no idea where she was and no one would talk to her. She is now currently in the hospital for her physical health because of the neglect of this "facility"."
"Went months with no calls answered, wouldn't refill meds until down to one pill. And then shut down with no warning. Awful, never go here for mental health help, the counselors were great people but the corporate and medical psychologist awful."
