Reviews of Kirkwood Health Center
"Arriving on time for our noon appointment, we found no one around at 12:50 and ended up waiting for an hour. Doubts lingered regarding whether she had actually registered us. Politely addressing the front desk about the delay, the response was a request for my dad's name and birthdate, suggesting a possible oversight in entering our details into the system. Unfortunately, the attendant's demeanor was rude and lacked any willingness to assist us."
"I had a wonderful experience today from the time I entered..."Ms.D" in the financial section was through with the information she provided me...I had the best front desk check in employee (so sorry I didn't get her name, she has a short haircut) she gave me such encouraging words I NEEDED in the moment. Thank you... Fatou was AMAZING as well she was attentive and really nice! Zane was my provider and he was FANTASTIC! He answered all my questions. He had a great personality and was knowledgeable. I look forward to coming here for my primary care. I never write reviews but Kirkwood location impressed me! Highly recommend!!! Thanks again y'all."
"Worst experience ever. I literally left in tears because of the way I was treated here. Yes, I was late for my appointment but they still checked me in and took my co payment. They took me to the back only to tell me that my Doctor would not see me because I was late. Only time I go to the doctor is for routine things, but this time I really needed my doctor’s help. My back issues are getting worse, to the point that I can't get out of bed sometimes. Which is why I was late. I have spasms so bad that I would just lay there until they go away. Which could range from 5-20 mins back to back. It could be anything ( kidneys, hormones, or maybe something is torn back there) and I really needed to see my doctor but she refused to see me. It broke my heart. All I wanted was labs and a possible referral to a spine doctor. I begged for help with tears in my eyes. I said okay, you guys will not see me just give a few minutes to gather myself before I walk back out into the waiting room. The nurse went to go get security, like I was being aggressive or something. I said, all I asked for was time to gather myself because I've been crying. Please have a little compassion! He said time is not on your side because we have other patients to see and proceeded to escort me out the building. I work in the healthcare field myself, and it really saddens me that this is the way Doctors treat their patients because I treat all of mine with the upmost care. This place will never get another penny from me. And I would advise everyone else to find a new primary care doctor because they are not loyal to their patients."
"This rating is strictly based on the phone call that I had today with a scheduler. Unfortunately, it does not look like I will be able to have services here due to the lack of costumer service. Never in my life have I been told that I sounded too professional on the phone, after sharing multiple times that the appointment was for me. I did my best to see past. I shared with the representative that my employer will change carriers and that I will have X PPO insurance as of 01/01/23. She said that without the member ID NO appointment can be scheduled. I have worked in healthcare for over 21 years, and not once have I been told this. I explained that I would be more than happy call back on the 2nd with the member ID and that I could even give her my ss#. Her reply “no member ID, no appointment!” WOW JUST WOW I hope the doctors realize what type of schedulers they have. Not only that but I had to repeat my information on multiple occasions. Worst costumer service ever. Trying to support locals, but now I will just drive the distance to my old provider."
"Please let Dr William's know she made me cry. I have never had a bad experience with Grady or cried in despair with them ever who I chose to stay with since 2019 because of the great care even after I got insurance on my own year before last after losing employment & becoming disabled. I had heard only negative things outside of their great traumatic care before then. But I found this to be unfounded until yesterday. I stayed despite what I was told because my care was if nothing else...compassionate. I have a great pcp, Dr Hussein who treats me kindly an empathetically. He just won't be available until February to see me or so I had been told. I haven't been able to walk well for a few weeks & having falls so I made this video visit with Dr. Williams who I did not know. And all Dr. Williams kept saying is I maybe having a stroke and to go to Grady emergency to be evaluated. I told her I am weak & sometimes fall & do not have help to get from parking to emergency. I asked her for other means of getting evaluated. Even asking could I go to a clinic location that would be easier to navigate for me in my condition. She says...I thought you said you couldn't walk. She then just said call an ambulance. I was taken aback. I know An ambulance is for traumatic, serious emergencies & also very expensive even with insurance. I really want to come into the clinic to be evaluated. Then she was so cold...unempathetic and has a terse "bed side" manner. It brought me to tears literally on the call. She said it doesnt matter if I come into a clinic, I maybe sent to emergency anyway because I maybe having a stroke. She kept saying that. I don't know if I have had a stroke but if I have or are having...try to understand hearing that terrifies a patient when they have no support system to advocate for them. I thought she was to advocate for my health compassionately not coldly and harshly. And looking at me like I was stupid for asking her questions about alternative means to be evaluated instead of sitting in a Grady emergency room all day when I can barely walk from one room to the other in my own house. I asked her a question and was awaiting the reply when she just stares at me...then she says.. Was that a question? with her eyebrows raised incredulously. I never ever want to consult with her again. And if this doctor is the best Grady Kirkwood has to offer these days, I am done with Kirkwood and Grady. After this call, I immediately called my previous pcp who I had with Wellstar before becoming disabled. Unfortunately, she is no longer with them as Wellstar is closing her office. And before we hung up, Dr. William's finally acquiesced & said she would have a nurse call & try to get me in to see Dr. Hussein sooner than February. No nurse ever called but after the video visit with Dr Williams, suddenly I had a January appointment with him in mychart. I am thankful for that small mercy & pray All stays the same or even gets better...& definitely not get worse until then in this healthcare desert of Atlanta now that Wellstar is downsizing & Grady is allowing doctors like Dr. William's to now treat their patients."
