"While my initial 5-star review still holds true for Dr. Hull, my experience with Dr. Starnes today displayed negligent incompetence. Prior to making my appointment, I made it clear with the receptionist that this appointment was to get a referral for physical therapy on a mostly-recovered rotator cuff tear from about a year ago. I need some help developing more support muscle around my shoulder so that it aches less after heavy use. The receptionist was clear on why I called, and booked my appointment for today (4/16/21) at 3p. Today, I showed up at 2:45 to handle the requisite paperwork, and then waited until 3:55 (an hour after my appointment time) before being brought back to wait for the doctor. I repeated to the PA why I was there. She spent less than 30 seconds talking with Dr. Starnes before coming back in and stating that he would only refer me for physical therapy after I got an X-Ray. This injury was an acute soft tissue injury, where if any imaging was required, only an MRI would have made any sense. This appointment was booked solely for the purpose of getting a PT referral, and that was clearly communicated prior to booking my appointment. But Dr. Starnes spent less than 30 seconds before trying to have me waste $500-$1000 dollars on irrelevant imaging. He never even took one second to speak with me. Trying to require me to get an x-ray for soft tissue damage exemplifies negligent incompetence. The business manager's explanation was that she isn't a doctor. Absolutely pathetic example of trying to take advantage of a patient in our broken medical system. ____ Dr. Hull is wonderful. He overrode the initial MRI reading (from a different specialty clinic) to avoid surgery on a 3rd degree ankle sprain that I believe most doctors would have chosen to operate on. Recovery time was reduced significantly."

He also has a great sense of humor and is easy to relate to. For now, cortisone injections are taking care of the pain, but I will definitely consider surgery with Dr. Hull in the future if needed."

He’s clearly very competent , and provided the education I needed to help me understand my present condition, any options available and was responsive to my questions and concerns to enable me to make informed choices regarding my care. Most of all, I am experiencing improvement. Also, his office staff were friendly and very efficient. I never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen. I’m elated to have he and his staff as a part of my team!"
