Reviews of The Philip Israel Breast Center
"One of the most unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had. I waited almost two months for my appointment for a lump under my breast. This was referral based so they had my insurance information on file. ( I know this for certain because the woman at the desk read my member ID out very clearly) it wasn’t until my appointment this morning that she informed me that my type of Medicaid wasn’t accepted. It took her a second (A LITERAL SECOND) for her to tell me that. If they had done any basic reading of my insurance file you could see the type I had. I could have been seen by now. And I leave still not knowing if I have breast cancer. She proceeded to offer me the cash price of over $200 for a CONSULTATION!"
"Overall mixed experience here. Wait times were a bit long, but the facilities were clean and the nurse and Dr Schroff were very personable and professional. Front office staff was laissez faire, and, not a deal breaker for me, but I noticed that no one had read my paperwork or looked at my medical records, despite them being provided for the practice. Ex: being asked "When was your last mammogram" and when the mammogram results were already in their system AND were written about on my extensive paperwork that I filled out in the office, was a bit tedious. Also, the dr (and maybe it was just a busy day), was in and out pretty quickly. She was nice, but things felt a bit rushed. I was there to investigate a lump, and she performed the fastest ultrasound I've ever had (and I've had several). I'll stick with it and see how my follow up goes."
"I had an appointment as a new patient that I’d scheduled about 2 months in advance. But somehow turned into a feeling that I was worked in. This was probably the worst encounter I’ve ever had with a Dr.! I was anticipating finding a breast surgeon to follow me along with my Oncologist post bilateral mastectomy in 2021. I’d actually been referred to Dr. Israel many years ago, although I never saw him after having a biopsy and everything was fine. I was given 10 pages of new patient paperwork which left me wondering why this was not given prior to the appointment. I was quickly taken back and assessed by the nurse who was very nice. I was left in the patient room for 30 minutes, while the Dr. was at a desk right outside the room chatting with staff and even made a phone call. When she came in the room she was not very friendly and was very condescending. She wanted to know why I was there and I told her my Oncologist had referred me for an ultrasound at my request since I’d had no scans since mastectomy and was about to have a breast revision and wanted to be sure there was no new cancer. She made me feel as if I had no common sense and told me I had no breast tissue left to get breast cancer, which is not true. Every cell is not removed during a mastectomy. She said she didn’t feel anything during my breast exam and refused to do an ultrasound! Then as I was trying to discuss my medical history with her, which she had not asked me about or even looked at the paperwork I’d completed, she abruptly told me she had to go that she had other patients and had a biopsy to go do! Her phone was going off the whole time I tried to talk to her and she pointed that out to me that they were telling her she needed to get to the biopsy! The time she spent in the room with me was 10-15 minutes, so whole appointment lasted 45 minutes with 30 minutes sitting in the room waiting on her without any apology at all! 45 minutes for a new patient appointment that was scheduled 2 months in advance! Now I see why they collect the payment up front before you even go back. I will not be seeing the Indian Dr. again, needless to say."
"Today I started a new leg in my breast cancer journey. My initial anxiety was quickly calmed when yet again God allowed a familar face to be at the new location I picked just through a google search for close by centers. . My new doctor, Dr. Ronald Mattison and the entire staff are excellent, with great attention to details, compassion and even great sense of humor. Also during my visit today I met a retired Nurse Practitioner who drives 30 miles because of her love for the service here. Thank God for leading me to The Breast Center in Marietta!"
"I don't really think you can give any doctor's office 5 Stars which means "loved it." I'm just grateful to get in and out without any bad news no matter how long it takes. This Breast Care office is in an old home right near the hospital. I felt like knocking when I walked in the door because it really felt like I was visiting a friend's house. I posted a picture of the beautiful terraced rock wall in the back. Others have mentioned their long wait. My appointment was at 11, I was taken back at 11:25, and I'm already leaving at 12. The nurse did not introduce herself and like others have mentioned I could hear every word she was saying to the other staff outside my exam room door. The CNM Becca was beautiful, informative, and kind. I will go back just to see her. Y'all take care of yourselves!"
