Reviews of Hillside Family Medicine
"Wonderful staff I absolutely love talking with the doctor he took his time answering all my questions and concerns. no waiting a long time . If you are looking for a long term doctor. Who really cares . This is the Doctor Dr Dhailwal !!"
"I want to start off saying that the Dr. is great. He actually listens and cares about his patients. I started seeing him about 2 years ago. But, this year my insurance has changed from a PPO to a HMO policy. I have had HMO policies in the past. I sent in my member ID, the office verified that I was in network with this Dr. Here is where there is a problem. The office wants a $249 deposit at the time of visit. No, it’s not a deductible nor a copay. The office wants this deposit up front in case the insurance doesn’t pay. This is what I was told on the phone. Well, if I am in network, then the insurance will pay to the insurance agreement. Even The lady on the phone told me they verified that my insurance was in network. So why a $249 deposit? If I was out of network then I could maybe understand the reasoning for the deposit. The lady I was talking to was rude and played me as if I was ignorant. Then the lady I was speaking with explained that if the insurance pays for most of the bill, but not all, then the office will take the difference from the deposit and send me money back that is leftover from the deposit. Now, my mom worked for a private doctors office for 23 years and they never ask for a deposit upfront. I try to use private doctors offices than these big name brand doctors office. In my 50 years I have never had to give a deposit up front. A copay yes, having doing a procedure and having to come up with a deductible, sure. But to see a PCP doctor? No!! Everywhere else, you pay your copay and may have a 20% co-insurance bill after the visit of about $30-$40, maybe not even that much, and they would send you a bill in the mail for that or pay the next time you came in. The lady on the phone was rude and treated me like I was illiterate. I’m sad to say I will not be going back to that Doctors office ever again. Again, this doctor himself is great, amazing, and cares about his patients. Thats why there is only 2 stars and not 1 star. His lady on the phone is just rude and needs a lesson on how to talk to people and that’s why the other 3 stars are not highlighted. They lost a patient because of her and the so called $249 deposit that they cannot do and probably out of compliance with the insurance company’s policy and rules that the insurance make the office go by."
"This was our first time here and I must say I was impressed with the explanations and education provided by both the nurses and the physician. Everyone was professional and knowledgeable. I’ve never been to a primary care setting in which my specific care was explained to me in such a detailed yet understandable way. I’m excited to have established care here and look forward to calling this practice our own as a family moving forward. I also love they are open on Saturday for those who have a difficult time coming during the week."
"Dr. Dhaliwal is great! He has always been exceptionally kind & is the type of doctor that listens and doesn’t just rush the appointment. I’ve never had a negative experience with him and recommend him to anyone needing a PCP."
"I had a great experience with Dr. Dhaliwal. He has great bedside manner and is very kind and attentive. After reviewing my blood work, Dr. Dhaliwal put my mind at ease by explaining everything clearly and giving me a great plan of action. He listened to all of my needs and answered all of questions. I felt very comfortable with him. The front office staff and nurses were also wonderful as well. I look forward to coming back. I definitely recommend Dr. Dhaliwal and his care team."
