Reviews of LifeStance Therapists & Psychiatrists Canton
"POOR BUSINESS PROCEDURE. I called this company and asked for a therapist that would be covered by my insurance, they gave me Jennifer O’Gorman. After meeting with Jennifer twice and no mention of any price or charges, and even mentioning in my session that I was glad I could have my therapy sessions covered by my insurance, they charged my debit card self-pay $85. Previously, they asked me to sign a blank credit card authorization under the premises that if I didn’t show up to an appointment they would charge a $100 fee. Now they’re telling me they can charge my card anytime with that authorization and that I am self pay and my insurance doesn’t cover my therapy. After this, I called my insurance company and found out they charged them $355 as well!!! SHADY! 12/28/23 - Nothing has been resolved. This company is still harassing me over $45."
"Take the reviews at face value…you’ll be treated the same sooner or later. Lifestance is a facade; they want your money and could care less about your health. You will be charged more than per-visit rates, every visit and yes they charge for cancellations even days in advance. As a new patient, the process was SO quick to get in and begin evaluations. Things will seem high & tight, proper and professional but that faded almost immediately. Never got a full hour either, my therapist waited at least 15 minutes AFTER MY SLOT TIME to come get me…EVERY SINGLE VISIT. I don’t blame all of the practitioners personally, more so the lifestance entity as a whole. My psychiatrist was very responsive to portal messages, questions etc. and I genuinely believe my health was in his best interest. HOWEVER…I got so sick of following a seemingly never ending trail of crumbs. The directory is constantly changing, with new phone numbers for billing and appointments every single month; it genuinely feels like getting ahold of a shell company. I’ve had shoddy rental agencies be more receptive to needs and concerns."
"I had the unfortunate experience of seeking therapy for my son's care at Lifestance Health in Canton, GA, and I must express my deep disappointment and frustration with the services provided. I can't even give them one star, but unfortunately, that's the lowest rating available. When I reached out to Lifestance Health, I was led to believe that their therapist would be able to help my son with his anger management and autism spectrum disorder. This was a critical need for our family, and we desperately sought professional guidance and support in person. However, we realized that the therapist was ill-equipped and unprepared to handle the unique challenges associated with autism. Throughout the sessions, it became painfully evident that the therapist lacked the necessary expertise and understanding of autism spectrum disorders. Instead of offering constructive strategies and assistance to our family, my son received generic and ineffective counseling that at times proved even unprofessional. We gave the counselor plenty of attempts to display her abilities and we were left feeling helpless and deceived, as we had relied on Lifestance Health to provide specialized care for our child's specific needs. In addition to the lack of expertise, the customer service was nonexistent. There is no front desk checking in or out which initially seemed fine but as the counselor was habitually late or arriving just as the clock rolled over to our appointment, a portion of our sessions were spent sitting in the car waiting for the office to even open. There were many scheduling "mishaps" and at one visit the counselor even locked the door to the hall in which the restrooms were available, so we did not disturb them during their session. I am not okay with my minor child being locked behind a door with a provider at any time. This was our last strike with this counselor and office altogether. The billing service was yet another source of frustration, with inaccurate bills and overcharges for services that were not even remotely tailored to our son's needs. We encountered a late fee for an appointment, so we sat in the waiting area while the counselor was in the office and never saw us, we knocked with no answer several times and finally left. The only thing you can do is call the general number on the door to which they are schedulers in an offsite location. In summary, my experience with Lifestance Health in Canton, GA, was a complete letdown and a disheartening ordeal. We came to them seeking specialized therapy for our son's autism, only to be met with unprofessionalism, inadequate counseling, and terrible customer service. I strongly urge other families seeking help for autism or any mental health needs to look elsewhere for genuine and competent care. Lifestance Health is not the place to trust with such critical and sensitive matters."
"Lifestance is awful. They overcharged me for months past me making my deductible. They charge $100 if you miss a single appointment. I once called the office to let them know I'd been in their virtual waiting room for 15 minutes and they told me I had to reschedule my appointment and that I'd missed it because it timed out, and I had to argue that I was on time for my appointment. I'm so fed up with them I'm looking elsewhere. Oh, and I called them today to reschedule my appointment. They called me back and then the called dropped. I had to call back and hold my spot in line again because they haven't bothered to call me back since the call dropped. They should not be abusing their clients by overcharging them like this. Don't go here."
"DO NOT USE- THIS IS A SCAM. I'M STILL GETTING MESSAGES ABOUT A $335 BILL WHEN THEY MADE THE WRONG APPT WITH A PSYCHOLOGIST INSTEAD OF A PSYCHIATRIST. They basically billed me for an appt that never occurred. Stay far away."
