About the Business
The Chattanooga Vet Center, located at 1300 Premier Drive in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is a community-based counseling center that provides a wide range of social and psychological services to eligible Veterans, service members, and their families. The center offers individual, group, marriage, and family counseling to support a successful transition from military to civilian life or after experiencing a traumatic event in the military, such as military sexual trauma (MST).
The center is staffed with experienced counselors and outreach staff, many of whom are Veterans themselves, who are prepared to discuss the challenges of war, loss, grief, and transition after trauma. Services provided are confidential and offered at no cost in a relaxed, non-medical setting.
In addition to in-person counseling services, the Chattanooga Vet Center also has access to Mobile Vet Centers (MVC) that provide outreach to eligible individuals in communities that are distant from existing services. The center also operates a confidential call center, available 24/7, where Veterans, service members, and their families can talk about their military experience or any other issue they are facing and get connected to their nearest Vet Center.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has created a scholarship program to help aspiring mental health professionals at Vet Centers, and is expanding the number of Vet Centers and satellite locations across the country and its territories.
