"This is my second time to the breast care center at Ascension St. Vincent‘s and all I can say is that they set the bar for a five star experience! My appointment was at 10:30 AM. The check-in was fast and easy… I had a mammogram, an ultrasound, a consult with the radiologist… all within a 40 minute span and I was walking to the parking garage. So kind, gentle, supportive, it truly makes a difference, and they clearly care!!"
"My father was there for days without a properly working shower the water that did spit out was freezing “he has a heart condition” when I asked to speak to the head nurse Ashley about the conditions of the room she was rude and told me he could use wet wipes to shower”.Mind you he had soiled himself at one point they left the bedding with him in the bed. The phones don’t work properly in the rooms either upon waiting for my dad to be discharged I was waiting in the hallway on the 5th floor where I witnessed a food service employee eating food off the cart in front of a patients room. I’m disgusted with the conditions at this hospital, I feel none of the staff that I personally encountered had any empathy or compassion for my father let alone other people on this floor. It saddens me to see this place ran so poorly what about the care and dignity of these patients you are suppose to care for? Would you want this treatment for your parents/loved ones?"
"This is the worst form of customer service I have ever received from any hospital. You do not answer your phones. If you do, you immediately put your members on hold for literally over 30 minutes. The portal chat is also trash. Even after collecting a member’s information including contact information, if the connection fails, no one calls back to finish transactions. Instead you have to go through the same dreadful process all over again. All of this for a simple referral. This is such a shame."
"I was very disappointed in how my boyfriends care was handled. First things first if I could rate the OR/PACU and their nursing team and surgeon separately, I would! They gave phenomenal care and were very passionate about their work. Five stars for them! But his recovery on 2center was absolutely ridiculous! The night shift was amazing and the nurse did her job but once shift change came that all ended! I left him around 3am. I called him around 6 to see how we was feeling and he stated that the anesthesia worn off so he was in pain. I told him that it’s close to shift change so you should be seeing your nurse soon. I came around 7:30 and he stated he seen his nurse and told her about the pain but she didn’t respond to him about it. I told him to call her again as I was heading out. I came on my lunch break at 1:30 and he stated he had not seen her since shift change and he’d been in pain ever since!!!!!! I pushed the call button and expressed my frustration because what nurse doesn’t take into consideration of what their patient is saying let alone not come back and check on them for a long period of time? She came in 20 minutes late all giggling but she could tell we not amused nor happy. She told him that she didn’t come back because she seen that he had pain medication at 2 am. 2 in the morning compared to 7 in the morning!!!!! That’s a 5 hour difference!!!!! Thank god he was discharged the same day because I could only imagine what would’ve happened if he stayed longer! Thank god he was also alert and oriented because what if he was on the floor trying to get to the bathroom and you didn’t come back from your poor excuse! I’m ashamed to even send anyone here!"
"The 2900 ICU is amazing. They took care of my husband with dignity and compassion. I wish I would have taken pictures of the lovely room. Once he was out of crisis, he was moved to the 5300 floor. Dingy, dirty, and tiny. While I don't expect luxury in a hospital room, there was barely enough room for a loved one to visit. Don't get me started on the uncomfortable seating. Sometimes loved one want to sit with your patients all day. The difference in the level of care between 2900 & 5300 was obvious. I would have to remind them about things that should have been looked after. I understand that the pandemic hurt a lot of industries, it shouldn't take 4 days to get an inpatient test done. Attached are some pictures of the room. I have no idea what was splattered on the ceiling. *Shudder* The sink is from the women's restroom at the end of the hall near elevator D."
