"This might be a brand new military veterans clinic but the games and the rude entitled workers are still in play! To think they would upgrade the quality of care from people (employees)would Change! NOPE! I have been in the va system since 2006-2023! Until I moved to Georgia! This STATE and any location in the State has the worst care for BLACK COMBAT VETERANS NO MATTER WHAT RATING! I now refuse to go to any va hospital and I rather go to a local hospital in Georgia! Until I move from this horrible rate race of a state and care! Pissess me off! I did my dame part get my care is treated like I don’t earn it! Georgia will never fix this problem and just use US VETERANS TO EARN GOVERNMENT FUNDING FOR THE STATE AND THEY NEVER USE IT THE CORRECT WAY!"

"I was concerned and hesitant when the Stockbridge CBOC asked me if I wanted to transfer to the newly opened Pike County VA Clinic in Zebulon, last year. At that time I had been in Georgia for nearly six years and had been underwhelmed by the Atlanta area VA Healthcare System. However, unlike the average veteran I was not only a patient, but had worked in the system for 33 years. The main problem is the Atlanta area VA healthcare system is in desperate need of a second hospital or at least a bigger hospital. Frontline staff, such as the clerks, technicians, nurses and doctors are usually the target of an overwhelming patient population; frustrated and angry at the pace of treatment and/or treatment outcomes they lash out at the people immediately before them who are seriously trying to provide remedy to them. Instead of contacting the politicians and bureaucrats in the way of expanding services for the served veteran, they see these health care workers as the problem. I digress. After the third request to transfer to Pike County I accepted the transfer. The Pike County Clinic was 33 miles from my house; the Stockbridge Clinic was less than 10 miles, but severely overcrowded. There was rarely a day I visited, where there was not an angry and frustrated veteran in the waiting room. My last visit I was there 30 minutes before check in and 45 minutes after my appointment I was still waiting to be called. As an aside, the clinic(s) in the Atlanta VA are just as overwhelmed. So I decided to accept the transfer. On my first visit to Pike County I was in the throes of depression and I did not truly grasp the splendor or the efficiency of the place. I remember my contact with Nurse Lisa was pleasant but my inner pain from a failed marriage was great. My primary care, NP Graddick was quick, courteous and to the point, I believe at that point I was in depression denial and wanted to get out of there as quick as I could. My very next visit, I realized the investment that had been put into this VA clinic. It was a medical oasis in the middle of a desert of medical disparity and urgency. There is more than ample parking right in front of the facility. It was clean, modern, spacious and from the moment you walked through the door there was a cordial and smiling rep ready to guide you to your correct care station. Additionally, my PC team of Graddick and Bearden had been joined by LPN Colbert. Their focus from beginning to end was on my need and guiding me to the assistance/services available to me. I never felt they were rushed to see the next veteran; each was concerned with me, the veteran before them and making sure my healthcare needs were being met. I was in and out of my visit with my PC team in about 30 minutes. I strongly urge any veteran at an overpopulated CBOC in the Metro Atlanta area to visit this CBOC and then try to transfer to it. This truly is a “sweet spot” in the Atlanta healthcare system. You may come bitter but you will leave better."

"I waited two weeks for a hearing exam just to get turned away when I arrive because the employee coded the appointment incorrectly. I drove 45 minutes to get there and all I get is, "I'm sorry, does Friday work for you?". No it doesn't. I would appreciate a reimbursement of the half tank of diesel wasted due to incompetence. A simple fix would have been to just fit me in. Even though I still had an appointment time at 8:30 and it was only 8:00."
